Nice horn for the money

By Angel Torres

Comments about Allora Vienna Series Intermediate Curved Soprano Saxophone:

Get a good mpc and you will get a nice sound. It's on the bright side but with a medium chamber mpc it sounds good. The intonation is very even!!!
Case 10. Its good!
Ergonimics 8 , better with a strap.
features 8, high f#, adjustment screws.
It's a pretty good horn.
Great buy for the money.

Somewhat Skepital

Comments about Allora Vienna Series Intermediate Curved Soprano Saxophone:

I am a pro that gigs and mostly play tenor sax, but wanted to double on soprano. This sax fills the bill. It is hard to go from a tenor or baritone sax to a soprano, and have the soprano sound decent and in tune.

The mouthpiece that came with this sax is really good for that transition, it has a small tip opening and has a good sound. A very good mpc. for a beginner or someone like me that only plays soprano occasionally. I purchased a more open mpc. and will work myself into it as I progress.
When I learned the sax was mfg. in Vietnam, I was not too happy and very skeptical. B&S Musical Instrument (Germany) used to mfg. this brand and other well known instruments. Not sure if they have a hand in this sax anymore.

Anyway, I was plaesantly surprised. It had heft, looked good with no glaring, visable defects and played good right out of the case with no adjustments or leaks.

My bias towards Vietnam eased somewhat, after all we trade with Jappan, Germany, Italy and other countries that we had conflicts with. (I told myself to get over it)
Passed my quality test. It plays pretty much in tune for a soprano. ( you must adjust embochure(sp) on certain notes, however). keys are quiet and have proper space opening distance. First Asian horn I did not have to adjust. Good product quality control.
I bought it on sale, so it was a very good value for me, and there is the option of a 45 day return, which was the clincher for me. Sales people very polite and helpful.
