The core philosophy behind JBL's long history of audio innovation is based on meticulous attention to every detail of system design. If the wire needed for a new voice coil isn't available, JBL develops it. If a tool or technology doesn't exist, JBL invents it. This uncompromising commitment to the goal drives the development of every new product and technology that bears the JBL logo.
Designing our products from the ground up enables our engineers to address current day audio problems though a 67-year evolution of audio knowledge, innovative thinking and proprietary tools. This holistic approach ensures that each component is designed to work together as a system, right down to the placement of the handles.Breaking free of the conventional, we develop technologies like our patented Differential Drive woofers that reduce driver weight and heat while greatly enhancing all critical performance parameters - frequency response, power output and distortion. And our Image Control Waveguide that delivers a wide coverage pattern with consistent frequency response that liberates our studio monitors from the room while delivering extraordinary detail, nuance, and a rock stable sound stage that ensures mixing accuracy regardless of the workspace.
But in order for great technology to really matter, it needs to go the distance. At JBL, our 100 hour torture test exposes all of our designs to extremes of use to give you the assurance that the sound you've built your music with can be relied on with unrivaled confidence.
Live Sound DJ Keeps Your Music Moving
JBL engineers have extensive experience working with concert tours on the world stage, going back to the very beginning of concert sound reinforcement. This experience is driven by our passion for audio excellence and has produced rugged, reliable, high performance products that feature ground up innovations, like the PRX715 Series which uses our patented Differential Drive technology maximizing speaker and amplifier performance for higher power and lower distortion in a smaller, lighter package.
JBL engineers spend significant time in the trenches experiencing the real world that you work in, sharing your passion for great sound, so that our products consistently blend superb audio performance with rugged reliability. From small, one person systems for an intimate coffee shop, to portable, scalable systems that can be managed by working bands, to mind blowing DJ rigs that will let you own the dance floor, JBL products will support and inspire your pursuit of musical excellence.
The overriding theme in the development of all high performance studio monitors is to deliver ever more accurate sound. The key to creating an environment that inspires your best performances, and achieving successful mixes that translate everywhere you take them, is to truly hear what is happening in your studio. Every nuance, all the dynamics, every detail must be presented with clarity, dimension and rock stable imaging. It's critical because all your decisions are affected by what you hear.
This is what inspired our engineers when developing breakthrough technology like our Image Control Waveguide. Featured in our flagship M2 Master Reference Monitors, it enables neutral frequency response, not just on axis, but off axis in the vertical and horizontal planes.
While other manufacturers use a single on-axis frequency response measurement taken at one point in space, JBL measures monitor systems over a sphere that encompasses all power radiated into the listening room - in every direction. This data reflects 1296 times the information of a single on-axis response curve. Seventy-two measurements of the direct sound field, the reflected sound field, and the reverberant field, the entire sound field heard by the listener, is correlated to optimize response at the listening position.
Now that same technology is deployed in the 3 Series Studio Monitors that deliver the same stunning accuracy in a package designed specifically for personal studios and today's modern work spaces. JBL is committed to making this technology available to everyone striving to achieve their best.
Portable PA loudspeakers are used in applications including sound reinforcement and stage monitoring for musicians and DJs, amplification of electronic musical instruments and A/V. JBL offers portable PA products that cover the spectrum of price and performance. In clubs, rehearsal halls, festivals, events, houses of worship and ballrooms JBL portable PA speakers deliver unmatched performance and value.

Founded in 1946 by James B. Lansing, JBL originally supplied speakers for movie theaters. Over the years, JBL became known for excellence in both engineering and sound and has developed many of the design and fabrication standards still in use by speaker manufacturers worldwide. A leader in the world of live concert sound and studio monitoring, JBL constantly develops new technologies keeping it at the forefront of speaker technologies and often leverages technology developed by other related companies within the Harman International family. Today, JBL continues its pursuit of achieving great sounds with its impressive line of speakers, subwoofers, studio monitors– and speaker cabinets.
