The king has returned, now with an intuitive touchscreen workflow.

In creating the MPC Touch, Akai has once again established the iconic MPC Series as a thought leader in music production technology. Combining the might of a pro-level piece of production gear truly fit to carry the MPC shield with the tactile ease of use found on smartphones and tablets, the Touch is truly a workflow revolution. How producers interact with all aspects of their sound has been forever changed.

With an ultra fast and super intuitive workflow, the Touch is powered by a radiant 7" color multi-touch display. Literally grab and pinch waveforms, draw MIDI events, adjust envelopes, chop samples, add effects, and precisely set your controls using your fingertips. Combined with the classic MPC feel, sound and vastly improved pads, the Touch embodies the best elements of Akai's past while taking music production tech into the future.

The hardware is a true innovation in music production technology. But at the end of the day, it' world-class sounds that inspire great music. Thinking of this, Akai bundled the Touch with over 20,000 sounds from elite content providers covering the gamut of musical styles, including: AIR, CR2, Toolroom, MVP Loops, Sonivox and Prime Loops. You will be ready to start making your next banger within minutes of opening the box.

The MPC Touch is the future-forward progression of our legendary MPC series, encompassing the classic feel and workflow of previous models while adding a never before seen touchscreen workflow.

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Touch Software Controller:

I love it! Started off with an MPC Studio after years of watching friends on XL's and quickly got into the groove of things. Recently switched to a MPC Touch and am very glad that I did. It has enabled my workflow to the point that whatever I hear or think up, I can lay down with ease. My time is well spent on making music and being entertained rather than sitting there on a piano roll programming beats with a pencil slowing down my ideas and progress. Of course the piano roll is essential for minor fixes and adjustments if you want to fine tune, but with the MPC Touch, you really are hands on, working directly from a touch screen that allows you to manipulate the waveform directly, pinching, stretching, zoom, browse, dropping slices with your finger, etc. You can make everything from Reggaeton, Hiphop, Dancehall, EDM, Country, Rock, basically any style. It also functions as an extended desktop or dual screen when the MPC software isnt running.

The only thing that really blows is that the MPC Touch needs the power cord plugged to the wall for the touchscreen to function which kills the portability factor. I seen a video where a guy suggested a rechargeable lithium battery in the same shape and size as the riser with the same plug end. If Akai can officially make them at a reasonable cost, it would bring back the portability factor that many were hoping for. I feel that note repeat button also needs to be closer to the pads, for some reason it feels too far and a bit difficult to switch between the division of notes. They also should have included a 1/4 headphone jack instead of 1/8 only as it feels a bit amateurish for a pro audio unit.

I can name many features within the MPC software alone that I love, but the Touch and the hands on approach just feels right. Overall, the MPC Touch has brought back the same feeling I got when I got my first 1200's and a mixer! I love it and recommend it as it has inspired me to do what I bought it for, making hot music!
