Compact, portable, expressive controller for your MIDI software and hardware, now in white.

This version of the Alesis QX25 has all the same features as the standard model but with a nice white finish instead of black.

Alesis' QX25 makes it easy to take commanding, tactile control over any parameter of your favorite music software. Using the included USB cable, the QX25 receives power while also transmitting MIDI data to your Mac, PC or iOS* software, or MIDI hardware device of choice. Punch out a drumbeat on its four easy-to-use pads, open up a filter with its 8 smooth and tight knobs, or adjust volume and playback of sequencing software with its long fader and snappy buttons. The QX25's immense parameter control and velocity-sensitive 25-key keyboard get your hands off of the mouse and into the action for a more efficient, visceral music-making experience.

The QX25's 25-note keyboard means its pitch range is perfect for performing with software instruments and samplers while still remaining highly portable. Plus, the Q61 provides keyboard players with a full compliment of controls including pitch and modulation wheels, octave up/down buttons and the ability to send program changes directly from the keys. The QX25's keyboard can even be split into sections to control multiple instruments at once.

The array of assignable controls on the QX25 works with virtually all music software and MIDI hardware devices. Whether you're looking to fire drum samples, tweak a software synthesizer or adjust individual tracks in a mix, the its extensive layout ensures appropriate feel and proper response with its sliders and rotary knobs, backlit drum pads, and dedicated transport controls.

    Ableton Enabled
The QX25 comes with Ableton Live Lite Alesis Edition software for performing, recording, and sequencing music right out of the box. This customized version of Ableton Live provides a fresh and easy way to create music. You’ll get audio recording and production capabilities as well as powerful tools for live performance.

I'm almost completely new to MIDI and using a MIDI Controller. Wanted to explore the full potential of Logic Pro's digital instruments and this helped me do just that.

Comments about Alesis QX25 25-Key Advanced MIDI Keyboard Controller:

Only real complaint is the highest "C" note arrived damaged, barely functional. I could send it in, but not convinced it's worth the cost and hassle.

Ignoring that, I don't like that the knobs "click" in increments instead of smoothly turning. Can't get super-fine-tuned values out of them accurately.

Everything else works wonderfully though, especially for the price. Plugged it into my PC (Windows 7 x64 Ultimate) and windows found the drivers no problems. Fruity Loops Studio recognized the controller and it works perfectly, pads, knobs, wheel, keys, everything. The mod wheel has a nice feel to it, and is very sensitive. Pitch wheel snaps right back into place like it should, without being too hard to turn. Notes have nice velocity sensing, I can get a lot of expression out of them. The pads work pretty well, although they could definitely be better. 25 keys is enough for simple riffs and synth testing, but not well suited for full keyboard pieces with harmony. Of course, I knew this when I purchased it. If I wanted that, I would've gone with 49+ keys.

All in all, for the price, this is a great controller and I would recommend it to anyone else looking for this kind of device.
