The limited voices, single pedal jack, and 1/8" jack keep this keyboard from being exceptional. The price is a great bargain. If you're simply looking for a realistic piano feel, this gets the job done without breaking the bank.
As far as bells and whistles, there are none. That doesn't mean that this isn't a good piece of equipment. Five onboard sounds limit the voices you can use with it. I will run in through garageband using the MIDI interface, but we all know that GB can be pretty limiting in itself.
The lack of a 1/4" (7 mm) jack on the keyboard is my biggest complaint. When I purchased this, I didn't think it would bother me. However, I have to use an adapter in order to connect an instrument cable during rehearsal.
The keyboard has held up very well in the short time I've owned it. Carrying it to rehersals, moving it across country, etc. All the keys work well and have a good action.
The only complaint I have is the 1/8" jack. After 1-2 months, the weight of the adapter and cable in the jack had bent the female connector in the keyboard to a point where the sound comes out the keyboard speakers and the PA. This is an issue because when I plug my 1/4" headphones in to practice, the sound comes out the speakers instead of the headphones. I used tape for a while to make a sling for the adapter, but it's unacceptable for me. It still works fine without a cable, but you need a cable to project through an amp.
This is a great price for an 88-key digital piano. The features aren't the most robust, but it is a great substitute for a piano.

This is a pretty nice weighted 88 key controller for the money with the added bonus of built in sounds and also light weight.I got it really to serve as a midi controller but was surprised at how useful the built in sounds were. Great for just quick practice and not having to hook it up to a sound module, monitor speakers etc. Also the weight at just 25lbs is really nice if your moving it around alot like me, because you can't keep it set up due to space. While decent though, I can't say I really was that impressed with the keyboard action. It was very mushy and the keys just don't come back quick enough for quick playing. Im using a studiologic sl990 now which has a much crisper and better feeling action, more like a true piano.

If you're reading this, you are probably like me, looking for an 'affordable' portable but yet good quality and good performing piano. I didn't buy all the others so I can't speak to their quality but this piano is top notch. I've played a few $1000-$2000 electric pianos that are 5+ years old and this one beats them. The playability is excellent, period. It feels and sounds like the real thing with a few advantages such as 3 levels of touch sensitivity. (it comes in handy)For the money (and musiciansfriend is the best), you can't go wrong with this piano. It really impressed me and continues to be a pleasure to play.

I've had it for only 1 week now and I really enjoy it great keys plays like a real piano the sounds are great too I just wish there where a few more perhaps a vibraphone setting. the speakers aren't top notch and aren't quite as clear as they could be but the sound is still great it plays comfortably and has a good price

I really enjoy the CDP-100. Its really great to use especially on certain gigs. It works well in any occasion. The only draw back is the output jack. Yall guys should of made it bigger. I love the E.piano sound it gives too but another organ sound wouldn't of hurt. All in all this piano is great. You won't regret anything about it.

When I needed a realistically sounding acoustical keyboard piano that was not only portable, but delivered real time concert piano sound I found it in the Casio 88! I'm also releived to discover after four years of use it still sounds as great as they I purchased it. A good amp is reccomended for open venues however stereo headphones suffice for private sessions.
Comments about Casio CDP-100 88-Note Weighted Hammer Action Digital Piano:
I own a $100,000 professional studio and have the best of pretty much everything, when it comes to my equipment. I write and record music for current and up and coming artists all over the globe.I first heard about this keyboard online, for a controller. I was looking for a weighted, real feel, light, basic keyboard to use along side of my new Open Labs Neko XXL for the studio. The wife bought it for me for Xmas this year and when I first felt the keys, I was in awe. I have played some of the most expensive digital and grand pianos in the world... and this comes as close as anything else I have played to the feel and action of those very keys. It was shocking to find out that my wife paid under $200, here at Musicians Friend(due to coupons I had). Not only will this make a great controller for my $7000 XXL, the grand piano patch included on the unit... is actually really well done. So much so, that a listener probably couldnt tell the difference within a mix. It could probably even fool some producers. For $300, that is pretty amazing. Especially from a board that weighs under 30 pounds. The unit is basic and the other sounds are fairly useless, but the unit does what it sets out to do... and that is, be a great digital piano. I was shocked that they actually included MIDI ins and outs, because of the price of the unit and the weighted keys.Overall, you could spend more money on a weighted keyboard... but you dont need to. This feels exactly like a real grand. The weight is perfect and the keys feel like ivory. It could be used on stage and it is a great addition to any studio, at home or full production, like mine.Buy it! You may be tempted to spend more or go up to the next model, but the keys feel no different(I played quite a few of the Casio and Yamaha models before this). The only reason you would need to upgrade, is if you needed more sounds for stage or studio applications(not as a controller).I am still in awe of the feel of this $300 board.
Comments about Casio CDP-100 88-Note Weighted Hammer Action Digital Piano:
This keyboard is excellent. The keys have a great feel, the quality of the sound is beautiful, perfect for any band. Except one thing, the audio out port is a small headphone jack not a big one for connecting to amps. This is really upsetting because I need a $5 adapter to play it for our band. Overall its a great keyboard
Comments about Casio CDP-100 88-Note Weighted Hammer Action Digital Piano:
I love this digital PIANO. Its not a sythn so don't buying it expecting that it will have a choir and guitar sounds. It is an EXCELLENT piano and a fantastic price. I am taking music classes for my music education degree and I needed a piano for studies and I highly suggest this piano for ANYONE wanting a PIANO. It feels just like a regular upright piano. I just wish it had 1/4" outputs to run through an amp, but does have convenient headphone jacks. GREAT BUY!
Comments about Casio CDP-100 88-Note Weighted Hammer Action Digital Piano:
Got this as my first digial piano. I was taking piano classes and this was perfect for practice. weighted keys feel wonderful, sound is fine for practice. Got a piano style sustain pedal, much better than the included one. Excellent for headphones out, not disturbing the neighbors. The price is right, great for practice!
Comments about Casio CDP-100 88-Note Weighted Hammer Action Digital Piano:
i bought this because i needed a full sized weighted keyboard. for that purpose, it exceeded my expectations. in terms sound, the sounds it comes with are decent, but there are only five. so if you're looking for a keyboard with alot of different sounds it won't be this one. also, when played at full volume, the sounds start to distort. overall, it's a good digital piano to practice on and use as a midi controller for the price.
