History of Casio CDP Digital Pianos

Though they have evolved since the first release, Casio CDP digital pianos still offer great value. They're Casio's most affordable pianos. They're among the most affordable musical keyboards available, but they offer more advanced technology than many in their class. If you're looking for a musical keyboard with good sound at a low price, check out the latest Casio CDP digital pianos.

The CDP line began with the CDP-100, which helped set the standard for entry-level performance keyboards. It was followed by the CDP-120, CDP-130 and CDP-135. In January 2019, Casio released the CDP-S100, which offers even more advanced features at a low price. It is the next step in a long line of popular digital pianos played by musicians at all levels.

Casio CDP-100 (Discontinued)

The Casio CDP-100 is a digital piano that gives you both sound and feel, thanks to its carefully sampled grand piano sound and scaled hammer action. Delivers authentic piano feel and sound for young and first-time players. The HL Sound Source and 88-key, Naturally Scaled Hammer Action with three levels of touch sensitivity deliver a realistic and satisfying piano experience in a portable, affordable digital piano. The Casio CDP-100 has 5 sounds including stereo grand piano, 32-note polyphony, eight digital effects, five demo songs, layer and transpose function, speaker system, MIDI I/O, plus headphone and sustain pedal jacks. Casio includes a stand and sustain pedal with the CDP-100 Digital Piano.

Casio CDP-120 (Discontinued)

The Casio CDP-120 is a simple, and capable stage piano with an 88-note weighted action keyboard and built-in speakers. Choose from piano, strings, harpsichord, or electric piano sounds, or combine two for a lush layered result. The CDP-120 is lightweight in design and comes loaded with additional easy-to-navigate characteristics including three levels of touch response, transpose feature to raise or lower the key by one octave, 10-levles of adjustable reverb, 5-levels of adjustable chorus, local on/off for MIDI control application, and its USB class-compliant so you can plug-in and play without the hassles of installing drivers or software.

Casio CDP-130 (Discontinued)

The CDP-130 is a graded-hammer action 88-key digital piano with Casio's AHL sound source and a rich hall reverb effect. Simple, yet straightforward, the CDP-130 has everything you need to sit down and play. The AHL sound source has built-in tones including piano and acoustic instrument tones that sound better than ever before. The CDP-130 is also equipped with a warm, lush reverb with the acoustics of a grand concert hall. The keyboard features a spring-less hammer system that is similar to the one used by grand pianos that provides a keyboard touch that is naturally firm. Lower notes play relatively heavier than higher notes, just like the keys on a grand piano. These pianos are equipped with a "Hall Button" effect function that recreates the warm, rich acoustics of a concert hall. Your playing will have the visceral immediacy of a concert hall performance. All built-in tones, including piano and acoustic instrument tones, now sound better than ever before.
