OVERVIEW

Contemporary digital piano with a grand feel.

Simple, yet straightforward, the CDP-130 has everything you need to sit down and play. The AHL sound source has built-in tones including piano and acoustic instrument tones that sound better than ever before. For songwriting, every instrument "contains" different songs and styles. I miss the old upright piano I used to have, but this digital piano has a feel and sound that come very close to what I rememember. Although mainly a guitarist, I like to write "piano songs" sometimes, and the Oxygen 49 keyboard I use for recording synth parts etc. doesn't quite do it. There may be better pianos, but this one sounds, feels, and works great for me. And for an amazing price.

I started using this after using a 72 key for about 10 years with all kinds of sounds and rhythms, etc. The pressure I had to use with this one was much stiffer, and it took me several weeks to get used to the sound. I tried putting it through speakers, but it was louder by itself than with the speakers. I like it mainly because it has the full 88 keyboard, but as far as sound and ease in operating, it's not what I expected. It's sound is more "tinny" than I wanted. The demo sounds wonderful, but I can't make it sound that good!!

Offeral, this bad things. With just "one sound sample", the sound is not realistic like Grand Piano, limited polyphony, and limited sound selection.

Comments about Casio CDP-130 Digital Piano:

I recently started looking for a digital piano for my own personal use at home. Being a moderate budget, a $1000+ DP was out of the question. I looked around and decided on the CDP 130 and I am not disappointed one bit. The grand piano sound is incredible and the lack of 100+ instruments and sounds does not bother me. I wasn't looking for a toy, just a great sounding piano and this has made me very happy.

Comments about Casio CDP-130 Digital Piano:

I will keep it short, long time sound engineer and performer here.

For 400 the CDP-130 has the best feel of any controller out there with the hammer action it is a whole different feel over a standard velocity sensitive keyboard. It plays as good as some weighted boards that cost 700 or more.

The internal sounds are okay the piano sounds decent.

I use in studio for recording usb out to my internal synths and piano in my PC. All I can say is it's huge!!!

Great piano very satisfied so far!!!!

the keys action could be a bit lighter, but not really a problem.
