CTK 5000 features

By Arun Joshi

Comments about Casio CTK-5000 61-Key Portable Keyboard:

Overall, a good instrument for a beginner
A good touch key instrument. The piano and harmonium sounds are very good.
However, there are very few rhythms [just six or so] for Hindustani film songs.
Also, there is no syncro-start key
. So, one cannot stop the chord accompaniment in the middle of a song and then re-start it automatically by playing the chord keys again..

Casio CTK 5000

Comments about Casio CTK-5000 61-Key Portable Keyboard:

The pitch wheel, sound sample, drums and arpaggiator are good features, but there's NO EQ. No master/track/patch eq. there's no controling attack/release or anything other than the choice of 4 or 5 reverbs/chorus that you can NOT edit. Basically the sound for the tone you choose is pretty much it, there's no tweaking tones here. Iv found that some of the tones are too loud and shrill with some rhythms. Lacks stereo spacial ambiance. Very cheap plastic body. Action is very good. Tedious control/function. Slightly disappointing as an "upgrade" to my CTK 671 which is more sturdy, sounds better and has a wealth of tweakablity. The CTK 5000 feels more beginner/entry level than the older CTK 671.

Casio CTK 5000

Comments about Casio CTK-5000 61-Key Portable Keyboard:

Loaded with features. Acoustic sounds are pretty real, leads and pads are great, better yet is layering them and make up your own sounds. Internal speakers are loud and clear with no noise, and so does when fully amplified into a PA. Using it is simple and having a SD card gives a practically limitless storage for setups and songs. Action has been enhanced from previews generation Casios (ie WK 3300 and such). It is deep and almost as hard as a ?semi weighted? or ?light weighted?, I am used to an acoustic upright piano and I love it. It still makes a little noise when pressed but not as much as the previews generation. It`s very light for transportation. As usb-midi controller it works very well. Connecting it to a PC was what plug and play was meant to be. WinXP and all the software I tried recognized it immediately and worked perfectly. As drawback the back connectors arent fixed to the chassis but to the internal circuit, so they dont feel too strong. And the AC adapter must be bought separately.

wow!

Comments about Casio CTK-5000 61-Key Portable Keyboard:

For the money, this product is amazing! The stored sounds vary and sound terrific considering the price. A keyboard has never been offered at this price-point with these features. The pitch-bend and the sampled drum sounds alone make this product worth every cent. Consider that the piano and synth sounds are what they are, and it is impossible to pass this offer up.....even for hundreds more.
