Comments about Casio CTK-7000 61-Key Portable Piano:
Many of the sounds are great and some are not. I was impressed by the organ sounds, having the draw bars and rotating speaker function. I was not impressed by the pianos in the instrument. I use piano quite a bit playing with my band and these just don't cut it for me. However, many of the other sounds are great, the sequencer is top notch, and the price is excellent. Overall I would say a 75 out of 100.

Comments about Casio CTK-7000 61-Key Portable Piano:
This is Casio Keyboard number 5 for me. I use this Keyboard with my Roland V-Combo to make a two manuel organ. Wow! Great editing capabilities to get the hamond sounds that we all love. The electric piano sounds are fantastic. Even my Roland Ep sounds don't measure up to the CTK7000 samples. Great job on improving the action of this keyboard. Even though it is not graded hammer action, the improved rebound of the keys allows for accoustic piano playing techniques that previous versions did not have. I have always loved the string, brass, synth, and hand percussion samples that Casio puts into their keyboards. With the pitch wheel, I can even play blues harp. Thanks Casio for giving us the sounds we all know and love at an affordable price.

Comments about Casio CTK-7000 61-Key Portable Piano:
I'm old school and especially love the hammond B3 sounds... Used to load a B3 onto a truck for gigs in the 70's... though I'm really a Tenor Sax player. The keys has a good feel to them as well not plastic like other keyboards. Check it out on you tube and you'll know what it sounds like. Cool... Hammond Rotary Speaker effects sound good too
Comments about Casio CTK-7000 61-Key Portable Piano:
I have just recently aquired this keyboard and must say that, for the money spent, this is a very nice and versatile keyboard. Lots of usuable sounds, the drawbar organ sounds are as close to the hammond sound as you'll find in the more expensive keyboards. Note if you are a piano player, don't buy this keyboard thinking you're going to get a "piano" feel on the keys. This is a work station type keyboard and all of those type keyboards are velocity sensitive and not weighted. That being said, I don't mind the keys as I am used to that type of feel. The only detriment I can find is that this keyboard is made of plastic. Although this makes it very light weight, I am suspect to it's longevity and ability to withstand the rigors of the road. I play locally and usually two or three times a month, so I hope it will hold up. I may return to review it in about 6 months to give an update. Contrary to another reviewer, I had a power supply in the box, so it does come with a power supply. If using this on the road, I would suggest a good hard case for it. I haven't gotten into the sequencer and recording part of the unit and don't expect to. I bought this strictly for the drawbar organ sounds and to use in my project studio. Overall, a great investment. I think you would be pleased with it. This is a very nice unit and would buy again. This makes a nice addition to my rig along with my casio privia px-3, also a very nice unit.
Features are endless on this keyboard. Lots of usuable sounds the ability to tweak the sounds, built in sequencer and recorder, SD card slot and the list goes on from there.
sound quality is very good, build quality is suspect due to being made of plastic. the input jacks are mounted to what seems to be the circuit board and only solder joints holding them. time will tell if they hold up to the weight of standard 1/4" plugs.
For studio work, and light gigs, this is a great value. for the money there is not a keyboard out on the market today with this type of capability.

My Roland XP-50 died. R.I.P. old friend. And I needed something quick with very limited funds in the bank. To the internet I went. I may have went to the Roland's first, but something else caught my eye. It was this Casio. Casio? Are you kiddin'? Smart, sleek design--much like the competition, and reading on through the specs--sounding like the competition. Only one big difference---the PRICE! At this giveaway price you may have thought you get what you pay for, but not so here. When it arrived (and just in time, I might add) right out of the box I had to get accustomed to something different. The panel was different and locales for quick reference took some getting used to, the keys themselves felt a little "mushy", not to mention I was very skeptical of a keyboard made of plastic. After a quick glance in the manual I was up and running within an hour, saving my personal settings to memory. KILLER sounds I might add. This thing does it all and I've barely scratched the surface. One selling point for me was the ability to record audio. This means I can record my sequences from my XP-60 directly to an SD card on this keyboard as a backup. COOL.
Give this board a shot. I think you'll be transformed. And the reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it didn't come with an AC adapter.
