Casio

Highly portable 88-key tri-sensor hammer action keyboard with a powerful piano sound.

Casio's Privia PX-150 represents a significant step in the continuing evolution of the Privia digital piano line. A combination of a new keyboard action and a powerful new sound engine provide a new level of detail, nuance and expression for a superior grand piano experience in the lightweight and stylish design that Privia is known for.

Piano Sound
The award-winning grand piano sound in Privia has been dramatically improved. The PX-150 utilizes more than three times the memory of the previous generation for a more natural piano tone. In addition, Casio’s new proprietary sound source “AiR” (Acoustic and intelligent Resonator) provides unmatched realism and detail. This engine provides seamless dynamics for a remarkably expressive and powerful performance. For further realism a new Damper Resonance simulator provides the rich sound of the strings when the sustain pedal is used.

Key Action
The new PX-150 also features a redesigned 88-note Tri-sensor scaled hammer action keyboard. This new action features a simulated ebony and ivory textured keys for a incredible feel and its three sensors capture the dynamics of a performance with unparalleled speed and accuracy. To further enhance the experience, the action and the sound engine take into consideration the speed at which different sized hammers move inside acoustic grand relative to velocity the keys are pressed, this timing nuance provides the ultimate key to sound experience.

Powerful Features
In additional to grand piano, the PX-150 has many other instrument tones including strings, organs, electric pianos and bass. The PX-150 provides split and layer capability allowing you to play bass in your left hand and have two layered tones in your right. Duet mode allows splits the keyboard into two equal ranges, allowing student and teacher to use the piano simultaneously. A two track recorder can even record and playback your practice and performances.

USB MIDI
Casio continues the tradition or providing class-compliant USB connectivity on Privia digital pianos. This allows the PX-150 Privia to be used with Mac or Windows computers without the need for downloading drivers. Class Compliant USB MIDI also allows Privia digital pianos can also be used as a controller the Apple iPad simply with the use of Apple’s Camera Connection Kit.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-150 Digital Piano:

The piano was DOA due to a defective power supply. I bought a new one (and was reimbursed by Musicians Friend for it) and it now works great. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the defective power supply.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-150 Digital Piano:

Nice keyboard. Casio tech support states it is not complaint with Ipad, yes their web page says it is, but many Ipad apps do not support this keyboard. If you are learning and want to use all the neat Ipad apps to help you and want it to interface with the keyboard, this isn't the one. Perhaps updated apps, but only one I spoke to plans to.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-150 Digital Piano:

I dont need built in recorder, but since it is there, why only one song max?
.csr files not mp3 ir wav files, so if i dump to pc, how to convert? I will just have to forget recorder is even there and use my handheld zoom h1 as a recorder. Seems these two items are an engineering oversight but i did not need them to play keyboard, just wasted.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-150 Digital Piano:

First time buying musical equipment with a young daughter taking up piano. Found this to be recommended for the weighted action keys and wanted something easy enough for beginner and yet something that she will not outgrow in a couple years and this fit the bill perfectly...great sound, nice appearance, easy set up and Musicians Friend phone order went really well with nice answers to my questions and good service>..overall wish all my buying experiences went this well on internet!

Comments about Casio Privia PX-150 Digital Piano:

My daughter is a music major and was having problems getting into the practice studios so our family piano teacher (everyone but me has or is taking lessons) recommended a keyboard. She searched and found this model to be excellent for the price. She purchased the keyboard, stand and triple pedal and now has a perfect practice piano in her dorm room!

Comments about Casio Privia PX-150 Digital Piano:

OK it may not have a lot of tones, but the ones it has are great, but by fare the piano sounds are the best. And there are great electric piano sounds, the organs sounds are very good and there is a jazz organ as well. I love the way the keys feel on this piano, the more I played the better the action responded. if you want a digital piano with realistic sound, and not all the other bells and whistles this is a great choice. I highly recommend this piano.
For the price you can not go wrong, I'm so happy I went with the PX 150 :-)
