OVERVIEW

88-key Tri-sensor hammer action keyboard with a powerful sound engine.

The Privia PX-350 represents a significant step in the continuing evolution of Casio's Privia digital piano line. Its combination of new 88-note keypad with Tri-Sensor Hammer Action and mighty AiR - Acoustic and Intelligent Resonator sound engine provides a new level of detail, nuance and expression for a superior grand piano experience while maintaining the lightweight and stylish design that Privia is known for.

Piano Sound
With the PX-350, the award-winning grand piano sound in Privia has been dramatically improved. It utilizes more than three times the memory of the previous generation for a more natural piano tone. As mentioned above, Casio’s new proprietary sound source “AiR” (Acoustic and intelligent Resonator) provides unmatched realism and detail. This engine provides seamless dynamics for a remarkably expressive and powerful performance. For further realism, a new Damper Resonance simulator provides the rich sound of the strings when the sustain pedal is used.

Key Action
This special digital piano also features a redesigned 88 note Tri-sensor scaled hammer action keyboard. This new action features new simulated ebony and ivory textured keys for a more incredible feel and its three sensors capture the dynamics of a performance with unparalleled speed and accuracy. To further enhance the experience, the action and the sound engine take into consideration the speed at which different-sized hammers move inside an acoustic grand relative to the velocity at which the keys are pressed. This timing nuance provides the ultimate key to your, and your audience's sound experience.

Powerful Features
The PX-350 has a total of 250 instrument tones built-in. Strings, organs, electric pianos, brass, drums, bass and more and with its registration capability, you can store your favorite splits and layers for live performance use. It also has 180 drum patterns with full auto accompaniment and a 17-track recorder for composing your own songs. Ready for the stage or studio, the PX-350 has 1/4” audio outputs so you can easily connect the PX-350 to recording and sound reinforcement equipment. And with its dock for a thumb-drive, you can record your performances directly to the drive without the need to hook up any cables. So when inspiration strikes, it's easy to capture and share your ideas.

I bought this to learn on and have never played before. Compared to other DP in this price range it is miles ahead with a better action, more and better sounds, and the ability to "layer" multiple (I think 16 plus the system track) tracks onto one recording on a USB drive. With this DP you could compose your own symphony. There is a learning curve to this with having so many features. So far I have played the Acoustic pianos and organs and love them. There are so many sound I couldn't remember them all to describe them. Be aware though that many of what they are calling tones are under the Various category and are an extended MIDI section of sounds like whistles and gunshots that just repeat.

My only two complaints is that in addition or combination with the add on pedal board/stand would be the availability of an expression pedal to be used as a WAH-WAH pedal and it would have been nice to have a rotary speaker sound (controlled by that pedal) to go with the organ tones where appropriate. Actually I have just one other complaint and that is the "soft" pedal. For the life of me I can't hear a difference in volume when depressed. On many digital pianos there is an adjustment for "pedal depth", but if there is one for this Casio it isn't in the manual and knowledgeable people have told me they know of none. There may be a subtle difference but I cannot hear it. This does of course only apply if you get the stand and pedal bundle, but trust me you'll want to. The pedal it comes with isn't really usable due to sliding all over the place and who wants to play on a lousy X stand and bump their knee into it at all the wrong times.

For the price and quality of this instrument it can't be beat by anything currently on the market. 5 of 5 stars.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-350 Digital Piano:

the first piano came with a big dent — I traded it.
the second piano worked wonderful for about a month then it wouldnt power on. Likely the power unit - but they wanted me to send the piano back too. 3rd unit is 1 week in use and am very happy with it. It is too soon to say if this system will work over the long term.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-350 Digital Piano:

Excellent keyboard for a reasonable price. The sounds are very good, but it's the action on this that sets it apart from the other mid-price digital pianos. It's amazingly piano-like.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-350 Digital Piano:

I purchased a broken 350 and fixed it up no problem. Now it's good as new and works great as a replacement for our dead Chickering. The Chickering was such a beautiful piece of furniture that I just took out the keys and action and slid this keyboard right in :) . I did have to take off one end cap and modify the speaker plastic to make it fit. But, that was very easy to do.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-350 Digital Piano:

Musicians Friend gets it. We ordered the Casio electric piano with weghted keys for Christmas. The sales person was super-helpful, knowledgable and fun. We had a problem with the final cost, the 15% discount was not subtracted from the price. I sent three emails to customer service, and recieved autoresponses with "links to answers" on the site. This was low-budget. I contacted management, and the 15% discount was applied to my account immediately. I was VERY impressed. This is why we are repeat customers, and continue to recommend Musicians Friend to others.
