Comments about Casio WK-6500 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:
This is a nice light weight keyboard. It's non-piano patches are not bad, but it's piano patches are only so-so when compared with my Casio Privia PX-3S, being kind of thin and tinny, but what can you expect from a keyboard in this price range. And no, I don't mean its piano sounds through its small on-board speakers which I never use, but rather the sound that comes through a DI box connected to a QSC PA system or dedicated Roland keyboard amplifier.
I mainly use for in-home sequencing, or as a second stage keyboard for non-piano sounds such as playing bass, or as a less-expensive keyboard that I can play at jam sessions at a local pub. I'm not as worried about beer being spilled on it. It fulfills these functions admirably.
In all, it's well worth its cost.

Comments about Casio WK-6500 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:
I bought this on April 14th, 2011 as a birthday present to myself and use it quite often. I write music, and this keyboard is perfect for that.
It has great instrumental tracks that can be used to add to your music. They're really fun to mess around with, too. I haven't quite figured out how to use the Arpeggiator yet, but I'm sure I will. The manual wasn't too helpful on some of the features, either, (like the arpeggiator) which is kind of a mood killer when you're ecstatic about the new keyboard and getting it all figured out right away. The piano, strings, and other sounds are not as true to life as I would have liked. But for the amount it cost, it's not that bad.
One great feature is the recording option. You can record up to five instrumental songs on the keyboard, with up to sixteen tracks each. And once the recording is finished and you've listened to it and realized you made a really big boo-boo you can go in and edit the exact place and note and length of the note just the way you want. You delete a wrong note and add the one that's better suited.
I had bought a few different SDHC cards (and brands, too) to transfer the recorded songs onto my PC and they all had horrible sound quality. I'm not sure if they were just the cards or if it was the keyboard, but the sounds that came off of those cards was worse than what can be heard coming from some children's musical toys. It was tinny and just plain disgusting. So I pretty much stick to using a separate recording device to record anything I play that can't be kept on the keyboard recording and filing feature.
There is also an option to move up or down two octaves. I like this feature a lot.
Overall, I LOVE this keyboard and would recommend it beginners and experienced players alike.

Comments about Casio WK-6500 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:
Although I mainly play guitar, I tend to feel more productive writing music on a keyboard, and the WK-6500 has been great for that particular purpose. It has decent recording and mixing options, as well as a pretty good range of tweaks to modify your sound. One thing in my opinion, however, that can be improved would be its user friendliness -it will probably take you a bit of time to read and setup many of the advanced features the keyboard has to offer to your particular specifications.
Overall, the WK-6500 is a very good product, and a great buy at this price.
Comments about Casio WK-6500 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:
The speaker on the Keyboard is low when use it for group singing. You need to plug in with monitor for the small group playing.
