I don't know what everyone is complaining about.
Yes, it's small.
Yes, the keys are small.
But it is a cheap keyboard. I only bought this thing out of curiousity. And I was pleasantly surprized. I run alot of my home mixes off of mixcraft and I plugged in the keyboard switched my settings to midi, and not only did it pull it up right away with no set up, but there wasn't alot of latency either. The sound wasn't bad either, but any half way decent musician is gonna know you can make it sound however you want with good software. Yes the keys are small, but I'm 5'11 and 270 pounds and my fingers fit fine on them.
Bottom line it does what it is suppose to and I recorded the bulk of my loops on it. This isn't for a concert pianistor someone trying to learn piano. This is for a studio musician who wants something small and quick that they can grab out of a desk and lay down a few quick chords, put down drum tracks, etc. I'd suggest this for a touring musician or someone looking to build a badic in home studio that needs a cheap keyboard to build loops with.
To everybody else, save a couple friggin bucks and buy a GOOD keyboard and stop complaining because the "cheap" keyboard you bought isn't up to your high standards. You get what you pay for.

Maybe your kids will have fun, but this is quite disappointing. I didn't expect much, just a couple octaves of playable keys, but this failed to deliver even that. The keys are incredibly small, which wouldn't be so much of a problem if the response was playable, but they are much too stiff.. plus (and this is what did it for me) there is nothing you can do about velocity. What does this mean? No real-time dynamics. You can't softly play it, or play it loudly.. it's all the same.I wouldn't pay $20 for this. What a miserable product.

Comments about Evolution eKeys USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:
I knew this thing would be cheap- hell look at the price, but I didn't realize it would be nearly non functional-It is so cheap that the plastic pieces are sharp and still have rough edges on the side of the keys. It will tear into the side of your fingers. Spend the extra few bucks for a better controller. This will be put in a drawer to never be used unless my nephew comes over and needs something to bang.

Comments about Evolution eKeys USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:
I bought this to give myself more flexibility in my home studio to use the MIDI synths that come with pro tools and it works great. I'm not a keyboard player so I don't need anything fancy - just enough for some simple midi composing. It's USB powered and USB connected so you don't need a power connection or MIDI ins/out on your computer or DAW and pro tools saw it and set it up right the first time - just plug it into the usb port BEFORE you start your DAW up and you should be good to go.
Comments about Evolution eKeys USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:
This was a waste of my money when I bought it. I was not expecting it to do wonders but I was hoping it would at least add something to my music. I tried using it with Cubase and it had so much lag, the keys were so small and it did not meet any of my standards. Even tho it is cheap and seems like a bargain for a beginner it is not. I threw it out after a while because it was so annoying having to fix the lag it made.
Comments about Evolution eKeys USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:
Okay now I got this about two years ago now. I use it to control Native Instruments FM8 and Pro-53 on Fruity Loops. It doesn't give you much in the way of real time feel but if you need to crank out a quick melody it works fine. I also use it with chopped up samples in FL and it does fine. I've made some very good music with this thing. It's pretty cheap so there's no real risk and if you don't like it send it back. But 2 years later it's still part of my portable arsenal.

Comments about Evolution eKeys USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:
I got this for my birthday, and it is just the right thing. The only software that really works for me is Picture Board, which I use very frequently. The only bad thing is that the keyboard does NOT playback while I'm recording, so that leads to obvious problems. Also, the size of the keys, being so small, gives even more problems. If you are an experienced musician, I'd recommend getting something bigger.
Comments about Evolution eKeys USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:
I am a guitar player in a church group. I don't play keyboards at all. I currentyly have a small home studio. I wanted to learn how to use MIDI to make my home recordings better. I got this unit as a Christmas Present from my wife and have had an incredible amount of fun learning about MIDI and how to build and improve tracks from my home studio. Is it top of line, state of the art? Probably not, but you can learn a lot and have a lot of fun with this unit for not a lot of money. The software alone is worth the price of the unit. No owners manual to speak of, but lots of tutorials in the software. I would recomend this as a great place to start learning MIDI for a non-keyobard playing musician. If you play keyboards, you will want a bigger keyboard.
Comments about Evolution eKeys USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:
I mean, it's a 37 mini-key controller with nothing on it. It does its job though... I mainly use it now for drum programming, but it is good for beginners. I'd recommend it to someone not using it for piano-type purposes.
Comments about Evolution eKeys USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:
This is a small but powerful gem, it works with all midi programs and devices. It's small and light, usb sends to midi out on an interface. I love it and it's cheap. If you need a simple plug and play midi controller this is for you. OS X and OS9 on a mac both work without a hitch, under OMS, free midi great for sample trigger. A power Book, this and a Usb to audio convertor with PT free and you havd a full set up for music pre production or even full productions. No Pitch Bend or modulation are my only complaints. however, it works rock solid and is very reliable under OMS or OSX, less bells, but it always whistles, that's fine with me.
