OVERVIEW

An easy way to make music on a computer or tablet.

K-Board is an unbreakable, ultraportable USB MIDI keyboard that works out of the box with Garage Band, Ableton Live, or any music application. K-Board has been tested to survive being run over by a car, dropped from a 2-story building, and more -- all without breaking. The LED backlit, touch sensitive keypads ignite creativity and add musical expression by detecting your velocity, pressure, and finger tilt. Just pull K-Board out of your backpack, plug the USB cable into a computer or tablet*, launch any music app, and you're ready to make music at your home, studio, the stage, or on the go.

* appropriate adapter required for use with tablet

Comments about Keith McMillen Instruments K-Board USB Keyboard:

I purchased this unit with a discount coupon so the deal was well worth it. There are 2 Keith McMillen keyboards, the Qunexus and this one, the K-Board. The units are the same size, and offer the same type of drum pad-like key bed for performance.

There are enough obvious differences between the products to justify the price difference, Qunexus is capable of non-USB MIDI I/O as well as Gate CV I/O none of which the K-Board does. They should also note the K-Board has channel pressure on it's main product page. However if you're going to note the Qunesus has polyphonic pressure, then you should note somewhere that the K-Board has channel pressure only.

I do not fault Musiciansfriend on this. If you go to the K-Board's product page, there is a video that shows off the pressure and tilt on a single key. The video then remarks that ALL keys have this smart fabric sensor for pressure and tilt. Now, I know they STILL haven't said it's polyphonic pressure sensing, but the comment that ALL keys have this type of sensor is mildly misleading. When showing a video of a keyboard with velocity sensitive keys, nobody advertises that ALL the keys are velocity sensitive. It's sort of a given.

Going off the main page to the FAQ product page DOES spell out these differences, but it should be a little more obvious.
