Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO - Dynamic Phrase Synth/Loop Recorder:
The Kaossilator Pro have amazings sounds , good construction, its really cool . With this in your hands , ever you gona have somebody in your left saying "waaooo thats cool ".
But it have varios negatives:
1- It's Really Hard to syncronize with your cd players with only the tap bottom.
2- No can plug an external midi keyboard to play the sounds inside the kaossilator.
3- Hard to play with presicion. If you wanna a expecific note that its in your mind, is hard to find it in the first shot.
4- One Sound by time. Its not a MPC . If you want to ear the Hit hat and the drum bass at the same time , its not possible.(NO TWO FINGERS AT THE SAME TIME)
I studied music and play differents instruments and make djing.
Its a good equipment for make live fx riffs for remixes. Its better in the studio for create. But if you are looking to make loops and jamming it's better to buy the APC40 with a midi keyboard and with that you can play all that are in your mind with no un-expected notes.

This rules. Take 20 minutes to read all the instructions and then the possiblities are endless. Been making songs with the interal sounds, now starting to run a 3-way router into the mic input with guitar, vocals, and turntable...loop/jam city

Cons

- Limited Use
- Poor Drum Track Selection

Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO - Dynamic Phrase Synth/Loop Recorder:
I'm primarily a guitar player and I picked up the Kaossilator as a sort of song writing tool for a project I was working on. The one thing I'll say about this gear is that it really is a lot of fun. Its uses, however, are limited as to what I was hoping for. There weren't nearly enough sample sounds, and suprisingly hardly any variation in the drum tracks. I ended up returning this product and getting the KORG Microstation instead, which turned out to be a good decision. Kaos pads are getting better, but KORG still has some work to do before I'll look at one again.
Pros
- Cool interface
- Easy To Use
- Good Quality
- Sampling capability
- Solid body
Cons
- Awful sounds
- Don't turn it off
- Just a toy
- Limited amount of sounds
- Limited amt drum styles
- Not Functional
Best Uses
- Experimentation
- Practicing
Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO - Dynamic Phrase Synth/Loop Recorder:
Was really excited to get this;interface was very cool. However, when you turn it off after recording loops/phrases/samples - they're all gone! So you'd have to load from the SD card & wait 'til its loaded up. Imagine a power outtage on stage - nothing is there in your K-pro except for what's on the SD card - so, total silence for 10 secs. or so in a performance situation - not good, nor functional at all. It would be like turning your computer off & when turned back on, you'd have to reload all your apps, software & work - that would make computers useless; 2nd Korg instrument I've returned for lack of intuitive capabilities. *fail*
Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO - Dynamic Phrase Synth/Loop Recorder:
I'm going to have to give the Kaossilator the thumbs down simply for this reason: There is NO MIDI IN accessibility to the patches. In other words, you cannot hook it up to a keyboard and play it with a keyboard controller. The pad is not very accurate, either. So, it took me only a few minutes to realize this would not work for me. Great idea, Korg, just have the sounds be accessible and available via MIDI. Why else would you have a MIDI in plug?
Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO - Dynamic Phrase Synth/Loop Recorder:
You don't really have to have any musical experience to have fun with this thing. If your into music like techno, dubstep, old school 8-bit sound effects, rock, pop, hip-hop, etc. then this is a really cool instrument to get (especially for dj's). There are so many crazy noises this thing can generate. With in 30 seconds you can throw a song together on the spot! You just select a sound to play with then hold down one of the bottom 4 buttons with one finger, then with your other hand, just tap the screen, depending on where you touch controls the note and effect, so you can make a custom drum beat or use the preset beats that are built into it (which help ALOT and are really fun to use) and then it will loop back what you recorded. From there I just throw on a bass line, crazy space age sound effects or even plug in a microphone (luckfully i had an xlr to 1/4" adapter for my microphone to plug into the kaossilator) You can make your voice sound like a robot or alien or make it sound low pitch like a demon. Really cool. I love the gate arpeggiator as well, it really helps create music that would be impossible to play on a keyboard. The only problem is the usb cord (i just use the one my printer uses) and a SD card are sold seperately. You don't have to have a usb or sd card to play with it but if you want to save your music to your computer or sd card then you'll need it. (i don't use it) My suggestion is read the manual it comes with or read it on korg.com. Also check out videos of people using it on youtube or korg.com this is the most fun I have had playing on any instrument. (for those who are wondering, I was able to plug my bass guitar into it, it's not a great sound but it does what I want it to).
