OVERVIEW

Arranger keyboard with special styles.

Liverpool is famous for music. Well, it's famous for four musicians, and this is Korg's tribute to the band that changed everything. Two generations of musicians and fans have grown up that weren't even born by the time the lads from Liverpool broke up, but still, the band's appeal remains fresh today. The Korg Liverpool is a sophisticated professional arranger keyboard whose design team recognized this universal love for Lennon and McCartney's music and produced a keyboard that makes it easy to cover this incredible catalog of music.

An arranger keyboard with 100 classic songs from Lennon & McCartney
The Liverpool has 100 of the artists™ timeless songs built into its memory. Start by listening to these œLiverpool Songs. When you hear those familiar introductions from the internal speakers, just use your right hand to add the piano, and you'll be playing along. You can practice at a slower tempo without changing the pitch or transpose to your liking, mute the bass for minus-one playing, mute the guitar and play along on a real guitar, or enjoy many other possibilities that are unique to a musical instrument performance.

œStyles, a built-in interactive backing generator
Once you've experienced the songs, try using the Styles. Although you can enjoy the Liverpool as a music player simply by playing back these familiar songs, taking advantage of the styles will let you freely change the song structure and chords while you perform. Play back the œLiverpool Styles which are arranged in alphabetical order just like the built-in songs, and add an accompaniment by using your left hand to play the chords. Each style has up to four functions, and also allows you to add an intro, fill, and ending. Since you can practice difficult passages such as just the intro or the bridge as many times as you like, you'll be able to keep trying until you've learned the entire song. This flexibility also lets you freely create new arrangements of your favorite songs that go beyond the œLP. Looking to use Liverpool in a live setting? You can jam on that solo from (insert song here) to keep your audience going, all to your heart™s content. When you'e ready, hit the ending button, wait for applause, and repeat.

Additional Styles, more musical roads to explore
In addition to the 64 Lennon & McCartney Styles, Liverpool also includes Styles inherited from the microARRANGER, KORG's compact and powerful arranger keyboard. Choose a Style in your favorite genre, play the chords in the left hand and melody in the right hand, and the ideas in your head will instantly take shape.

High-quality sounds that you can also use live
Although you can enjoy the Liverpool on your own, its high-quality sounds also make it a great choice as a keyboard for a band. With standard keyboard sounds such as piano, electric piano, and organ, as well as guitar, bass, strings, brass, and drum sounds that can also be used with the styles, this instrument is all you need to cover a wide range of sounds. Four stereo effects are also built-in, letting you add finishing touches to your overall sound from performance to output.

Bold panel design featuring a Union Jack
If you're ready to rock, don't settle for a drab color! The Liverpool is as deeply rooted in its look as it is in its content, with a panel sporting a bold British flag (Union Jack) design.

Built-in speakers, with a compact size and light weight for convenient portability
The Liverpool comes standard with stereo speakers. Even without using an amp or headphones, you can produce sound from the instrument itself. It's also compact; merely 88 cm wide and weighing only 4.2 kg. It doesn't require much space, and it's convenient to carry.

Comments about Korg LIVERPOOL Professional Arranger Keyboard:

So small and light you can set it up about anywhere even on your lap. Keys are small so takes a little getting used too. Up side is I can play some chords never could on full size board. Sounds and styles are really quite good, even more so if you plug into an external PA or stereo amp. Not as easy to use as my korg PA900 with it's touch screen but still not to bad. The Beatle tunes are pretty cool. Check it out.

Comments about Korg LIVERPOOL Professional Arranger Keyboard:

Even at it's simplest form this keyboard is GREAT! seriously, if it had only 1/10th of it's features it would be worth purchasing and owning. The remaining 90% of features puts this device OVER THE TOP fantastic!
GET ONE! You'll love it. I particularly enjoy playing along with the demo mode. (You have to have at least a Beatles "fake book", because you'll need the chords in front of you. They do not display when in demo mode. The Beatles used MANY chords in rapid changes. This makes their tunes a GREAT WORKOUT to improve your guitar skills when playing along.

The Quick Start is just that, and can get you started, but to access the power of this little beast you'll need to download and read the 246 page manual.
In addition to the Beatles 100 songs, each with 4 styles that can recall the original sound and feeling, you can create your own backing tracks, record songs in realtime or steptime, and lots of useful styles for using on a cafe or lounge gig. And yes, it can import and play your MIDI files and save to built in SD card.

Comments about Korg LIVERPOOL Professional Arranger Keyboard:

I've seen so many negative reviews on this item it's crazy. Then a bunch of positive reviews for the micro arranger. It's pretty much the same animal with different cloths on. The micro keys are weird but you get used to them, but the presets are amazing. The pianos, organs, synths all sound great.

Comments about Korg LIVERPOOL Professional Arranger Keyboard:

I got it on the stupid deal of the day. Great little keyboard for the sale price (MF won't let me post the price). My wife is enjoying playing with it. She is a novice. I have owned an Alesis QS6 keyboard for many years - it's more of a "real" keyboard. I've seen a lot of negative comments on threads about the Liverpool, but I imagine these comments are from more professional musicians who are used to seeing Korg put out fine professional instruments. The Liverpool is for fun - and it is! It has a lot of neat features, good sounds (especially when I hook it up to my PA system), and those little keys.... my wife loves those little keys! Oh yea, you should like the Beatles if you get this keyboard; >)
