Comments about Korg PS60 61 Key Performance Synth:
Sound Engine is nice, pots on each bank make it easy to switch back and forth as the patch levels are roughed in and you dont get slammed. Effects are fast and easy to use, just need bigger letters telling what they are. Works great live, not for computers. It looks Pro onstage, 2nd tier above my Stage Piano. You can use the joystick to work the Leslie or the Button either one making it easy to change speeds. If you switch sounds using the Bank buttons when you go back it has defaulted to the #1 sound on that bank again, it wont remember the last sound you had it on. And with some patches the volume knob wont turn up when you return to a sound unless you turn it down 1st then up. Strings are cool, pads too, the only great piano sample is the old M1 sound. I had a Poly 61 in the 80s and it has an Organ off of it!! Square lead is great, horns okay except the Sax. You have to build a Dual Sax. As for me I think the action is fine for a Synth, if you want great action get a Stage Piano. All in all it's easy to work and it's CHEAP, just buy it. p.s. get a good case!
Comments about Korg PS60 61 Key Performance Synth:
korg put a lot of effort into features that'll make the gigging musicians task a lot easier and that's a winner. i bought this kbd w/o live demo and i recommend playing it before buying to avoid possible disappointments. i do a lot of horn lines in our band music and the horns need tweaking to goose them up... a chore i'm not happy about. all in all, i wish it had more balls, but the rig will do what i need once i get the experience with it and for the money invested it is an absolute bargain
i like the layering ability w/ separate volume control. the on/off button for 'leslie tone cabinet' effect also, the separate effects bank, reverb bank, separate EQ all easy to reach and control in the heat of performance
a little afraid to do any real pounding on this rig, it seems frail... small keys small control dials and buttons better have good eyes... sound banks are servicable but not as impressive as my roland especially the horns... rig is very light so easy handling. note: headphone signal is weak
still usin my old kbd to gig out as i'm not used to the korg. might use the korg for rehearsal only as it seem delicate for the rigors of live gigs. time will tell on that & if my primary rig fails then i'm covered

Overal: I'd buy it again.
I bought it for casual jamming. Easy to carry. Got the sounds needed.
Quality: seems okay so far.
Good price.
Comments about Korg PS60 61 Key Performance Synth:
I've owned this keyboard for a few months, used it for bar gigs and basement jammings, and of course, home studio practice.
The bad: the keys feel cheap and small like a toy. There is a limit to the ability to change the parameters of the on-board sounds.
The good: the bread and butter sounds are all there: acoustic piano, el piano, horns, and synths. The response of the keys is excellent. Though I've mentioned that the keys are small- not the regular size of an 88 keyboard- you will get used to the feel and will do fine. I use this keyboard as a secondary keyboard to my larger and heavier B3 emulator, especially when I need some good R&B horns and acoustic piano.
More good:
Tweaking the parameters of the sounds is clear and easy because of the knobs on the panel. I can switch sounds in the middle of a song within 1-2 beats. Sometimes faster. It's that easy. Matter of fact, there is no need to hook up your computer to the keyboard to change internal parameters. Most everything you'll ever need to do to change parameters and save them in the banks can be done with the knobs and switches on the keyboard.
It is light. I use this keyboard on the second tier of an X-frame. There's no need to use a heavy duty frame with this keyboard.
One last thing: I had dropped the keyboard off my stand- my clumsy fault- and the corner of the keyboard hit the cement floor. I caught it before it had a chance to bounce and tumble completely onto the floor. Since the keyboard looks like a plastic toy, I thought that it was a goner. To my relief- no damage. Just a small scratch on the corner. The plastic body is harder than what it looks. The keyboard plays fine. Whew!
For the price, this keyboard delivers great sounds for playing live on stage.
Comments about Korg PS60 61 Key Performance Synth:
I waited 4 months to write this as I wanted to be accustomed to this keyboard. I've played and worked with a lot of Rolands, Korgs, and Yamahas since my first Korg DW8000 in 1988.This PS60 is probably the most user friendly, light weighted, live use synthesizer I've owned. Very simple to edit a sound quickly - even on the fly. I mostly use a piano/pad sound - I could never layer exactly what I wanted in my Roland Fantoms or Juno G (though these 2 synths outweigh the PS60 in other areas - having sequencers for one). With this PS60 I was able tweak a great layered piano pad sound easily. As far as the sounds: Piano is excellent - as good as the Yamaha Motif. Organ is mixed - good B3 sounds, shallowish grand pipe. Strings are decent, Pads are good. Guitars are okay - not as good as Roland though. Definitely glad I bought.
Comments about Korg PS60 61 Key Performance Synth:
After much research I decided to buy the PS60 to play live and add to my Yamaha digital piano. At first glance this keyboard is well organized and easy to use. I programed all 20 user performances immediately without opening the manual. I found the voices to be very useable with a large selection to choose from. The layering feature is so easy to use & save that you'll probably not even need to use the computer software to create new sounds. Although the effects panel is something I could do without, it's handy for tweaking some voices and might be nice for a recording application. The organ sounds are very realistic and the E.Piano voices are good. As for acoustic pianos ... next to the Yamaha they sound a bit weak but then again, you can't have everything. The strings section rivals my Proteus and there's quite a nice group of Synth sounds to chose from too. What I most liked about this keyboard is that is has most everything you'll ever need to play live and isn't bogged down with stuff you won't use..... no drums, no sequencer, no demo songs & NO SPEAKERS !!! It's a professional "Stage Keyboard" - not a consumer toy. The feel of the keys is nice & responsive and works well with organs & synth to compliment my fully weighted Yamaha. No after touch but.. I don't use that anyway ... can't hear it in the mix onstage. I also love the octive & transpose buttons - right where they need to be. The user bank allows for 20 sounds so that you can program the voices you use and get to them quickly. At just over 10 lbs. it's lighter than some of my guitars and just about as long. This unit would be handy as a stand alone keyboard for small gigs and quick setup but as an add-on to my piano, it's ideal. If you're a stage musician, the Korg PS60 is worth looking at to add a light weight keyboard that has "almost" everything you'll need.
Comments about Korg PS60 61 Key Performance Synth:
Great set of solid useable Korg sounds under one roof.I have had this synth for only a couple of weeks but have used it already to great extent. It's very easy to find your way around and will do a few things that's not even mentioned , for example you can layer sounds from the same category by just writing a sound to another bankand then layering those sounds letting you build up say an organ that consists of 3 organs patches and being able to mix between them with the rotary knobs.Although the rotary simulator is a bit week, all the other effects are very strong, and Pianos, Rhodes, Strings, Synth's are all very useable.
