the feel of a real grand piano on its keys is undeniably awesome. The weighted hammer funtion actually only adjust the sensitivity of the keys rather than increasing the weight of the keys. It's a pretty cool keyboard with a very cool touchscreen display, which was part of my consideration of getting this stuff. A lot of rythms and styles are offered as plenty as a standard keyboard. With it's unexceptionally cool features as the ensemble part.. I found that this thing actually is not a regular digital piano, it's indeed one of the best digital piano, which I bought for $1500. Quite expensive, but worth the capabilities and features. cool stuff

Purchasing a keyboard can be very challenging. This is even more difficult for someone who has been piano trained his whole life. There is not one keyboard that I have been satisfied with to date. Some have been ok, and I certainly thought this would be one of them. I was wrong. For one, their piano sounds are awful. But, I suppose Korg isn't known for good piano sounds. Secondly, the action of the piano is supposedly some great new technology... nope. Some company made an action and Korg bought it. They did not research it, they merely bought it. It feels nothing like a piano, and after playing for a while on it, I become worse at playing the piano. Lastly, they designed the keyboard to think for the piano player. In theory, if I play a note on the piano and don't lift the note all the way back up, you'd think I couldn't play the note with the same volume. This is actually not true. On a piano, you can hit the note hard enough to have the same velocity. On this keyboard, that is impossible. Unless you keep the note the whole way up for half a second, you can never and I repeat NEVER have the same volume on the second hit.Overall, I have been extremely disappointed with this keyboard, and I'm going to get rid of it.

        Impressive

I've been playing keyboards for over 40 years and was very impressed with the SP-500. Smooth action and easy to navigate thru. I'm not sure what the other reviewers problems were, but this is an awesome keyboard. They probably couldn't play to begin with.

        Review

I have found this keyboard to be very amazing. I have been classically trained all my life and am used to playing a real piano, this keyboard comes close. Don't expect any digital piano to compare to the real thing, because it's not what its made for. I really like how its easy to use, the sounds are easy to change, and not some confusing settings. the screen is very helpful to visually see what setting you are on and also good to record with. some disadvantages are that its not self-amplified... that's about it. I Love it!

        Excellent

I sold my Triton to get this. Mind you, I would have not minded getting the Triton Studio but I don't need the sampling features. Excellent sounds and easy to use.

        THE BEST PERIOD

        By themanandmyth

I've never played a digital keyboard that felt this good. Plays like a real piano and is an easy adjustment for those who play an actual piano. I also enjoyed it having features that were relevant to a pianist. It doesn't have all the funky techno stuff. Just what a pure player tends to need.

        Sweetestest piano!!!

        By Buttercup

This is a great piano. We have listened to all kinds of keyboards in the shop, I've compared it to Yamaha P-120, P-90, P-60, Roland FP-5, FP-3, and couple Casio's and this is the bestest off them all.Great feel for pianist, great sound.I love it.

Great playing sounding piano that does it all

        By DannyZ

        from Norway

Not much to complain about here. Great sound and a great feel for a piano that won't break the bank. Only problem is that for the money they could have put in the same program that they have in the Trton LE which costs roughly the same. When I say programming, I am referring to the recording capabilties and the looping options. With that said, it's a piano - not a synth. I love it!!
