Comments about Kurzweil PC3LE7 76 Key Semi weighted action Performance Controller & Workstation Keyboard (Light Edition):
I want to like this instrument. Sound selection is fairly easy (although pressing an alphabetical letter and number like my Yamaha would be easier). The organ tones are very nice. The biggest problem with this instrument is the programming. Some tones are very loud (i.e. many organ tones), while some are very soft (strings, pianos), so I'm constantly adjusting volumes in performance. Using the split keyboard is very problematic: volumes almost always have to be edited, and then still don't get good matches, the keyboard often transposes one tone by a half-step, so an edit is required. Once, the master programs self-transposed by a half-step. I had to edit it up by half-step. The next time I used it, it was corrected, so I had to edit back down by a half-step. Some tones won't play at all with a split keyboard, and some will only play one note with a split keyboard. There is only one person (Jean) who knows advanced programming of this instrument. He was pleasant enough, but talked alot of "techno speak" and didn't offer to walk me through things step-by-step that weren't covered in the manual. I've had to learn by trial and error. Some programming aspects just simply refuse to work correctly.
