Comments about M-Audio Code MIDI Keyboard Controller:
I purchased this keyboard with much skepticism. In the past, the M-Audio stuff has come out strong, but quickly suffers from cheap materials and poor quality control. I have seen their keyboards with broken keys, missing knobs, non functioning buttons, for many years. I need a gigging keyboard that can take a beating. This has all of the features I need, including aftertouch, but it hasn't left my studio yet. The keys feel great, although they are not all level. The black code keyboard doesn't have the edit keys screen printing above the first two octaves, as does the white code models. This is a slight annoyance since I have to refer to the manual, either on line or the poorly printed documentation, to figure out how to save parameters mostly, but all other edit key functions. I emailed M-Audio, and they basically told me that there are no plans to provide a simple sticker so that I can easily access these keys, or that I am an important customer. Hence the review.
