Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 - USB MIDI Controller:

When i first connected the Oxygen61 to a windows-pc, it instantly was recognized(as "USB Audio device"). After booting Emagic Logic Pro 5.5.1 every time i've putted Logic in play or record-mode, the Oxygen61 produced a bunch of controller-data and went power-off. Cause of this is the midi-clock send by Logic (default to every device connected). So to turn this off in Logic go to: Options>Song Settings>Synchronization Settings and on the page "Midi" you're able to unselect "Transmit Midi Clock" (or choose another specific port instead of "All ports"). Solved!

Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 - USB MIDI Controller:

I purchased this keyboard to use as a DAW controller as well as a virtual instrument controller. I quickly learned that even with the Oxygen software for interfacing with programs like Cubase 6 (64 bit); the transport buttons and sliders did not function properly. After digging online; I found dozens of forums filled with similar complaints. Eventually M-Audio confirmed that they knew about the programming flaw and could not confirm when or if it would be patched. Many folks who purchased this unit have been waiting 5+ months for functional midi software.

I'm terribly disappointed in M-Audio support.

The keyboard is light and well made. Even on its most sensitive velocity curve settings; light play does not always register. If you are a dynamic player; you would not likely choose this unit for performance or recording. It is great for practice and hard players.

Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 - USB MIDI Controller:

This is a fantastic instrument. Don't by this expecting it to be like an electric piano you can plug into a wall and play with some headphones. It sad that this thing had 50 presets, so that's what I thought because I didn't know too much about it, but you just plug in instruments to it from your software. It's a dumb statement, but I bought this when I was 14 and didn't know about MIDI keyboards.
I've had his thing for a whole year now and I haven't even figured out all of the extra options this thing can do. It's great.
I haven't had any problems with this at all, even though I play really hard on it. The keys aren't heavy-weight of course, they are plastic and light, but it doesn't even mattr compare to the fun I have for such a low price.
I'm so happy I didn't spend twice as much to get the cheapest synthesizer out there. I use Protools SE, the BETA version of Protools 9, and It is great just being able to plug endless instruments into this and play them just as fast as I can think of them.

Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 - USB MIDI Controller:

I went from an Axiom-61 (original version) to this keyboard, because my Axiom had a couple of problems and also, it was too complicated. I don't need all of that to do what I do. I play live, and I need a reliable and simple controller. I use Reason running on my laptop, controlled by the Oxygen-61 as my keyboard rig, and it is working really well for me.
Overall - this is a basic 61-Key Midi controller to use with software synths, or samplers, etc. And it does a fantastic job of that. It's lightweight, compact, and still has full-sized keys with a good quality synth action. This keybed is not trying to emulate the feel of a real piano, so don't be surprised that it feels nothing like a real piano. And I like that about it. It feels like a synth, which is what I want.
Seems sturdy enough to me. All the keys, knobs, sliders and buttons seem to be solid. I am not worried about it breaking. And for low price of this keyboard, that is saying something to have this much quality.
This is where the Oxygen-61 stands out from the rest. Just 5 years ago, it would be unheard of to find a good 61-Key controller with all these whistles for this price. I bought an open box Oxygen-61 and got it for a steal! And it was in perfect condition. Great value.

Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 - USB MIDI Controller:

I've been using the Oxygen 61 as my primary controller for a few months now, and I must say it's been great. The first one I ordered was DOA, wouldn't power up at all. MusiciansFriend (as always) was great to deal with and I got it exchanged pretty quickly. I was a little hesitant to reorder the same model after already having a dud, but I was pretty convinced that this model was exactly what I wanted so I took the chance and I'm glad I did. The features are great on this thing. Assuming you use one of the major DAWs (Cubase, Logic, Reason, etc.), DirectLink is awesome and completely hassle free. Just install the drivers, download and install the DirectLink file for your particular DAW and you're good to go! All the knobs and faders are automatically assigned and give you a great "hands on" feel, which really helps out your work flow. They changed the knobs from the "clicky" kind on the old model to smooth turning ones, which I was happy about. The keyboard action is a bit lighter than what I was used to; it doesn't have the "snap" that a Yamaha keyboard does. But as I've gotten used to it, I've actually great started to like the way this one feels, perhaps even prefer it. It seems to respond very well to velocity, and you can change the velocity curve to your liking. This controller is very light and compact for a 61-key, but feels solid. Although I wish they would have put a sturdier on/off switch on it, as it's kinda small and flimsy feeling. That's really the only part I'm slightly concerned about in the long run, although it hasn't given me any problems yet. All in all, I think this is a great controller. Great size, good feel, VERY easy to set up. Awesome value, especially if you're just getting started. I've owned a quite a few M-audio products and aside from the dud I initially got, I've had nothing but positive experiences and no real complaints. If you're thinking about getting the Oxygen, don't hesitate.

Does the trick with Pro-Tools...

Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 - USB MIDI Controller:

I'm not really a keyboard player but I bought this to control the virtual instruments that come free with Pro-Tools 8 (M-Powered)... and it works great for that. Plugged it in and with minimal set-up I was up and ready to roll... if you read the manual it has pretty deep functionality if you want to start digging & mapping parameters, etc... but I'm all about the "plug & play" and it seems to work great in that regard. I give it a solid thumbs up!

Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 - USB MIDI Controller:

Just received Oxygen 61 in the mail today! First off, i was pleasantly surprised in the size of this board! very compact and light weight! loading drivers and everything worked well and fast on Windows 7! havent had a problem yet! As for the keys, always see people complaining about the keys... the keys are standard keys! just like on the majority of keyboards! not piano exact, but feels good to me, and definitely gets the job done! very well! the knobs and sliders are very sturdy, rubber! plastic wheels(mod, pitch) still very smooth! i gave this 5 out of 5 stars, because it gets done well what i got it for! using software instruments such as FL Studio and Presonus Studio One Pro! works very well together! still more for me to learn about this! first one! but overall, i am very satisfied! highly recommended!

Great Product

Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 - USB MIDI Controller:

I picked this up so i could run Pro-Tools M-Powered since it requires an M-Audio device and it works great. Automatically maps the controls to the default setting, but you can still change it up to your liking. There are more drivers you can get as well to have it run with Propellerhead Reason which is also a plus considering i have that program as well. The controls are sturdy, and for a 61 key its not too big, great size, fits any keyboard stand. I got mine on my second Tier. For a 61 key MIDI controller, its a steal at the price its at.
