Comments about MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge:

I got an E-MU Proteus synth module. I has an A and B imput so I could run my Axiom 49 and Axiom 25 into it at the same time.I was a drag to go from midi channel 1A and than scroll up to channel 1B. And the pads send out on channel 10.Lots of time wasted twiddling knobs. Also the Proteus is capable of supporting 32 midi devices at once(if you can imagine) I also have a drum machine with midi out,an old Roland MC-303 sequencer and an Alesis Control Pad and a set of Studio Logic floor pedals. I got A Quadra Merge! Plugging into the A imput I was able to run the two axioms and the midi out from the sequencer and drum machine. If I wanted to use the drum pads I would unplug something and plug it in. After a while I got a E-MU auddity module to use with the floor pedals. I recently bought a E-MU Extreem Lead Module and discovered that by using Midi out and Midi Thru I could controll all three Modules at once. Than I got a second Quadra Merge. Now I can run The two Axioms, giving me two keyboards and two sets of pads. The drum machine, the Groove Box Sequencer,Floor Pedals and Drum pads, and I have a leftover imput for another Midi device if I need it. These six units use 10 midi channels across three modules. I could have 18 different instruments going off at once!Since the Proteus has an added ROM full of percussion sounds(world exposition) I have around a thousand percussion sounds alone to work with. Kinda blows your mind! Bottom Line... I could live without my Quadra Merges....but I wouldn't call it living!

      Good Stuff

Comments about MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge:

I wanted to mention how pleased I am with this product. It works exactly as advertised and I experience no latency with my keyboard or DTXpress drumset when run them through the Quadra Merge. I recommend it.

Comments about MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge:

Does exactly what it's meant to do...and does it well! I use it very frequently and it works like a charm. I've had it for about a year and a half now. If you need a simple device to merge your midi messages, this is for you!

Comments about MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge:

MIDI Solutions makes great stuff and this is no exception. It does just what it says. Take any four MIDI sources (say, a couple keyboards, a wind controller, and some foot pedals)...and it merges them into one output. A graceful solution to a deceptively simple problem. This unit is powered by MIDI connection to the device on Input #1...so make sure you connect something to that port and turn it on, or the unit won't work and you'll be left scratching your head. Solid, reliable, and indispensable.

      Bad for clock messages.

      By JVonD-exLXA

Comments about MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge:

I purchased one of these units from this site and I'm going to return it cause it has problems with clock messages. If your not using it for the time clock then it should work ok. If you need to merge with clock messages use M-Audio. I've used the Midi Merge 2X2 and it has never messed up a clock message.
