Giving it the power to do all it can do for your music, it has an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. To save your ideas, the Open Labs EX5 DAW has a 500GB hard drive, and a dual-layer CD/DVD burner for sharing them when they are polished. It comes with a Windows OS specifically configured for music production by Open and is internet-ready for sharing your finished compositions or for sharing ideas quickly.

Besides the cost the Neko ex5 is the best all in one music keyboard workstation. It offers flex ability in what sounds you want and it enables yout to compose a full song without ever relying on other piece of gear. I like my Neko so much that I am going to purchase a Miko EC5 for more portability. The other advantage that this keyboard has over all the rest is it is a computer and all of it's components are upgradable including: motherboard, processor, cables, panels, power supply, Windows OS for future expand ability. I just had my upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit by Open labs tech support remotely.
The EX5 has a lot of good features. I love to use Riff for playing sound sets like piano or any of my vst instruments. It also comes with a user friendly DAW like Reaper. I like having the Master control surface built-in in doesn't take up additional space on my studio desk. The built-in alpha keyboard is handy for typing input data in your DAW as well as type lyrics or doing web searches.
Overall the quality of the firebox the gadgets including the case is well built and sturdy
Although the EX5 is pricy it is worth every penny. I've spent way more buying other gear like my to Macs, 3 Maschine, Pro tools keyboard, 3 keyboard workstations, clavinova, and much more! If, you are looking for a cheap solution or not limited in space then sure purchasing your gear in pieces may be less expensive.

The Ex5 made a great upgrade to my existing setup everything all in one i up loaded all my programs into it and it was ready to record out the box should have got one a long time a go

I purchased the Neko Ex-5 about a month ago and I love it! I recently switched over to VST instruments over the last few years and I always hated working from a laptop. With this keyboard I have everything in one box (pro tools, VST's sounds) and I can always add new programs, so the Neko will never be outdated. The large touch screen is great because I can physically touch anything on the screen (VST controls, Pro tools Mix Screen etc) and save time from always using a mouse. My Neko has yet to crash and seems highly optimized for my high intensity working environment. If you are a person that hates working on a laptop and longs for the old days of working on a single all-in-one unit, this is for you!
