The process for getting your piano to you, and installing and tuning it properly is completely streamlined. And the price is unprecedented for a brand new delivered grand piano. But what about the instrument itself?

The action
Suzuki uses seasoned hardwoods and state-of-the-art carbon composites for durability and dynamic control in producing the SZG-53. All bushings and dampers are high-quality felt, the precision hammers are crafted from seasoned hardwoods, and the hammer heads and shanks are covered in the finest wool felt. Suzuki takes no shortcuts in the quality of their piano components.

The strings
There are over two hundred strings in a grand piano and each one must perform flawlessly. Suzuki uses only the finest high-grade polished German steel with hand-wound solid copper windings. The German-made Roslau strings are stretched over a wet sand cast plate, a time-consuming and costly process that results in sound and resonance usually associated with pianos costing twice the price.

The soundboard
The soundboard is the heart of any acoustic grand piano, and Suzuki's soundboards are made of AAA Canadian white solid spruce. Its bridges are made from select hardwoods and kiln-dried to proper humidity. Finally, the full-length ribs are painstakingly notched into the rim liner of the piano to ensure that the crown of the soundboard remains intact for the life of the piano. These steps afford a quality of sound that resonates with a full rich bass, warm middle register and a clear, crisp treble. Played together, the entire range produces exceptional concert hall sound.

The pinblocks
The strings exert tremendous pressure when stretched around the pinblock. This part of the grand is meticulously designed to reduce maintenance and hold the piano in tune over time. Suzuki uses hard rock maple 18-ply pinblocks, allowing for a lifetime of musical enjoyment and dependability.

The cabinetry
All the components of the Suzuki SZG-53 Acoustic Grand Pianos come together in a beautiful cabinet with a hand-bent rim and exquisite hand-rubbed finish that adds warmth, elegance and character to your home. Meticulously assembled, each piano cabinet goes through a series of controls to assure the finest furniture-quality finish possible. In keeping with this aesthetic sensitivity, the SZG-53 comes with a slow-close fallboard that ensures the piano key cover will never slam shut, preserving not only the serenity of your music space, but also the finish of the key cover and the key bed. The SZG-53 comes with a matching padded deluxe concert bench with storage compartment.

The size
One of the primary sticking points for a lot of people considering a grand piano is space. But a grand piano doesn' t have to be a full nine feet in order to deliver thrilling sound. Perfectly sized to enhance a cozy living room or adorn a bay window, Suzuki's exquisite SZG-53 is 5'3" in length, and adds an elegant ambiance to any room in your home. Rivaling larger models with its rich, resonant sound, the beautiful 5'3" cabinet design will bring the joy of music to any home dcor. Each carefully handcrafted instrument is built to exacting design specifications with advanced Japanese technology and imported traditional German parts. Discover remarkable beauty and sound at a surprisingly affordable price.

Comments about Suzuki Acoustic Pianos SZG-53 Acoustic Grand Piano 5'3":

This is not a 5'3" piano. Using standard technique, the cabinet measures 4'11" from the keyslip to the farthest point on the heel of the cabinet measuring parallel to the spine. With the lid closed, there is an inch overhang bringing the measurement to 5 feet. I have photos of the measurements if anyone is considering buying this piano and expects a 5'3" cabinet. "White glove service" from Suzuki includes tuning. I have had the piano for nearly two months and it has not been tuned. I can't even play the piano out of tune because the dampers don't touch the strings when a key is released. I have been trying for 5 weeks to return the piano. I have been extremely pleased with Musician's Friend's customer service for the last 30 years. In the end, however, this is a product drop-shipped by Suzuki, and it is Suzuki that I am now dealing with. I have talked to a very nice Suzuki customer service representative, and I'm waiting for an acceptable solution, which to me at this point is a return and refund. This is a new program and maybe Suzuki will work out the kinks.

Comments about Suzuki Acoustic Pianos SZG-53 Acoustic Grand Piano 5'3":

I have been looking to buy a grand piano for me and my family close to a year now and since I had a limited budget at first I went shopping at local music stores and all they offered used, old pianos.
I wanted something that looked cool and with a great sound. So I went online, at first I was a bit spectacle about ordering a piano online since I've never seen it person but I did it!
The outcome was amazing, this is not just a beautiful piece of furniture, it also has a remarkable tone with rich bass sound. I now feel I got an amazing deal for the price, musiciansfriend guarantees the lowest pricing for a professional instrument!
