OVERVIEW

Affordable weighted hammer-action piano.

The Williams Allegro 2 is a full-size digital piano with 88 hammer-action weighted keys, and a brilliant new custom sound library. Enjoy 10 great sound samples, including classical and modern pianos as well as favorite electronic keyboards and synths. The Allegro 2 is a highly versatile, portable digital piano offering outstanding reverb and chorus effects PLUS special Modulation/FX control for realistic rotary and vibrato effects on select instruments. This means players now have more expressive control over the internal sounds than any other keyboard in its class. With easy-to-use controls, graphic LCD display, split/layer function, metronome and built-in speakers, the Allegro 2 is easy to navigate and play, right out of the box.

Whether you need a simple, convenient instrument for play or practice, or you™ve just starting taking music lessons, the Allegro 2 is a highly versatile and easily portable solution.

Note: This keyboard operates on batteries or with a power supply, but it ships with neither. We enthusiastically recommend the Williams ESS1 Essentials Pack for the Allegro 2 Digital Piano, which comes with a power supply, sustain pedal and pair of headphones. #J10039

I bought this used. One of the keys makes a much softer sound than the others, but otherwise, it is a very nice keyboard. I'm using it to learn piano, because it takes up far less room. You will need a stand, power supply, and foot pedal. It includes a metronome, but it's too quiet. I purchased a metronome app on my phone instead. I would buy this again, because it is a great value. No other weighted key keyboard is this inexpensive. I did a lot of research before I bought.

This piano would be fine for the student, amateur musician, or weekend warrior. Not so much for professional use. Does not ship with a power adapter (but will run on batteries). Does not fit in standard 88-key piano/keyboard cases (it's bigger than the reasonably standard 13 inches wide). It's a big chunky and awkward when compared to slightly more expensive offerings by Casio. If you are a professional looking for an instrument but already have a case, spring the extra dough for a Casio or you'll spend it on a case and power supply anyway….

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

I'm a guitar player who uses piano to exercise my fingers and learn. The quality was surprisingly good for the price. I would definitely buy this again. It seems as though it would stand up well in use on stage.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

I bought this piano when I decided to start playing again. I did not want to spend a lot, given that the piano could sit unused. Fortunately, that has not been a problem. Overall, given the piano's price, I'm very pleased with it.
    - It has a good key feel.
    - The speakers are just OK. I would highly recommend external speakers.
    - The keys click when they hit bottom. I think that this bugs me the most, given that it could have been solved with a little padding. The clicking does not seem to come through the external speakers.
    - It's heavy.
So, they are some negatives, but I gave it 4 stars, because I think its a good deal for the price.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who wants a realistic sound. The only thing I don't like about it is the sound "drifts off" on the upper and lower keys. The action is great. It is just like playing a real piano.

looks to be in working condition. it hasn't been played but a few keys up to now and sounds ok. so time will tell if the damage to the box affected the piano in some way.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

A great value in a digital keyboard 1) Touch-sensitive weighted keys 2) decent-sounding samples - I especially like the electric keyboards (Rhodes, Wurlitzer) and the modulation effects 3) useful features - recording, metronome, stereo line outputs, headphone output 4) simple operation. No, it's not a Nord, but for under three bills you get a useful instrument, not a gimmicky toy.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

I'm 54 and started playing piano at age 2. I'm picky. This electric piano is good, not great but for the money you cannot beat it. There are some good sounds in it and it can be used as a midi controller without all the bells and whistles of a controller that some people either like or dislike.
I bought one for my kids when they first came out because we were living in an apartment. I sold it when we left but just bought another one for a friend of ours that needed a piano. They are cost effective and space effective alternatives to a real piano. There are much better actions out there but not for the price. All electric pianos have the bonus of volume control so that isn't really a comparison but if you are looking at a real piano versus electric that is something important to factor in.
The last one we had was played by 4 people for about 3 years. The action started to get a little loose but only I noticed it. My wife and kids didn't. I play pretty hard at times so I'm the one that wore the thing down a bit.
The downside to this keyboard is that it is relatively light and will wobble on a lightweight stand. If you have a sturdy tabletop to put it on or invest in a heavier stand, you'll be fine. Also, you'll need to cough up some money for a good pedal for this.
