OVERVIEW

Affordable weighted hammer-action piano.

The Williams Allegro 2 is a full-size digital piano with 88 hammer-action weighted keys, and a brilliant new custom sound library. Enjoy 10 great sound samples, including classical and modern pianos as well as favorite electronic keyboards and synths. The Allegro 2 is a highly versatile, portable digital piano offering outstanding reverb and chorus effects PLUS special Modulation/FX control for realistic rotary and vibrato effects on select instruments. This means players now have more expressive control over the internal sounds than any other keyboard in its class. With easy-to-use controls, graphic LCD display, split/layer function, metronome and built-in speakers, the Allegro 2 is easy to navigate and play, right out of the box.

Whether you need a simple, convenient instrument for play or practice, or you™ve just starting taking music lessons, the Allegro 2 is a highly versatile and easily portable solution.

Note: This keyboard operates on batteries or with a power supply, but it ships with neither. We enthusiastically recommend the Williams ESS1 Essentials Pack for the Allegro 2 Digital Piano, which comes with a power supply, sustain pedal and pair of headphones. #J10039

I bought this used. One of the keys makes a much softer sound than the others, but otherwise, it is a very nice keyboard. I'm using it to learn piano, because it takes up far less room. You will need a stand, power supply, and foot pedal. It includes a metronome, but it's too quiet. I purchased a metronome app on my phone instead. I would buy this again, because it is a great value. No other weighted key keyboard is this inexpensive. I did a lot of research before I bought.

This piano would be fine for the student, amateur musician, or weekend warrior. Not so much for professional use. Does not ship with a power adapter (but will run on batteries). Does not fit in standard 88-key piano/keyboard cases (it's bigger than the reasonably standard 13 inches wide). It's a big chunky and awkward when compared to slightly more expensive offerings by Casio. If you are a professional looking for an instrument but already have a case, spring the extra dough for a Casio or you'll spend it on a case and power supply anyway….

Great keyboard for my son who is just learning to play. The price was right, it does what the teacher was looking for and it was delivered quickly. The only real issue was that I had to purchase the power adaptor separately. WHY?

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

I was first impressed with just the price for a digital piano with hammer-action keys. But the whole thing is fantastic for the price. The action feels very natural. I've hated playing on most keyboards without weighted keys.

One of the best parts are the sounds! Not a ton, but the Electric Piano sounds are very authentic. This is as close as I'll get to a Wurlitzer without dropping at least a grand

It is quite heavy, and does not come with a sustain pedal or a power supply which seems quite odd.
The speakers are not the greatest, but the functionality of it is very easy to use and has a lot of options.

Again, you cannot beat this for the price.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

I bought this piano when I decided to start playing again. I did not want to spend a lot, given that the piano could sit unused. Fortunately, that has not been a problem. Overall, given the piano's price, I'm very pleased with it.
- It has a good key feel.
- The speakers are just OK. I would highly recommend external speakers.
- The keys click when they hit bottom. I think that this bugs me the most, given that it could have been solved with a little padding. The clicking does not seem to come through the external speakers.
- It's heavy.
So, they are some negatives, but I gave it 4 stars, because I think its a good deal for the price.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

I purchased this to replace my 76 key Yamaha keyboard because my instructor recommended I buy a full 88 weighted key one. What a huge difference! It doesn't have all the bells and whistles (literally) but I love the sound. So much different from my Yamaha. More of a piano sound. I researched a lot and for the price, it was highly recommended! Perfect for learning!

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

Extremely disappointed in this piano as we've had it just two years and the sound no longer works. Conveniently the 1 year warranty has expired and the company has offered absolutely nothing to compensate us for the "lemon" we received. We love the piano prior to this and we're so disappointed to be replacing it so soon.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

At first, I was happy with the action. but when I started playing, I notice three bad things right away:
1- sound coming out the speakers was like out of face
2- the sustain was too long when the sustain pedal was pressed. not like a real piano, the notes just kept on sounding on and on and I hated it.
3- if you pressed the same note over and over it would cut of right before sounding again. something that doesn't happen on a real piano

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

A great value in a digital keyboard 1) Touch-sensitive weighted keys 2) decent-sounding samples - I especially like the electric keyboards (Rhodes, Wurlitzer) and the modulation effects 3) useful features - recording, metronome, stereo line outputs, headphone output 4) simple operation. No, it's not a Nord, but for under three bills you get a useful instrument, not a gimmicky toy.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 88-Key Hammer Action Digital Piano:

I'm 54 and started playing piano at age 2. I'm picky. This electric piano is good, not great but for the money you cannot beat it. There are some good sounds in it and it can be used as a midi controller without all the bells and whistles of a controller that some people either like or dislike.
I bought one for my kids when they first came out because we were living in an apartment. I sold it when we left but just bought another one for a friend of ours that needed a piano. They are cost effective and space effective alternatives to a real piano. There are much better actions out there but not for the price. All electric pianos have the bonus of volume control so that isn't really a comparison but if you are looking at a real piano versus electric that is something important to factor in.
The last one we had was played by 4 people for about 3 years. The action started to get a little loose but only I noticed it. My wife and kids didn't. I play pretty hard at times so I'm the one that wore the thing down a bit.
The downside to this keyboard is that it is relatively light and will wobble on a lightweight stand. If you have a sturdy tabletop to put it on or invest in a heavier stand, you'll be fine. Also, you'll need to cough up some money for a good pedal for this.

On the Musicians Friend web site the piano was pictured with the Williams Essentials pack that included power supply and legato pedal. I called instead of ordering online to make sure it came with the piano in this "special offer". The sales associate assured me that this was included in the purchase price.
No I have a piano that works better as a door stop!

The main reason I got the Allegro, the " electric piano1" is the closest to a Fender Rhodes as I ever heard one, without spending for a used or new Rhodes. And w/ the hammer-action keys..........I'm loving it. Plus all the added features. Got it @ your "open box" price.........in excellent condition.

I got tired of carrying another 88 key so I thought I'd try this one. Plays wonderful and sounds good, easy to tote.it will not do all my $3000 Roland will do but on some jobs I can get by . To me it needs assigned outputs for the split, and pedal volume control for layer. I cannot figure out the usb/midi output yet so I have to carry another keyboard for now.

I've been wanting a digital piano without all the added features like built in songs, etc. Just full sized, weighted keys. This totally fits, plus finding it on sale during Black Friday was an offer too good to resist. I love it.

I can only give this four stars because the first one was defective. It arrived with one key that would not press down, so a mechanical failure. However, the return policy of Williams and Musician's Friend were stellar and the return was painless and no shipping costs. The next piano was fine and it seems perfect for learning.

I was looking for a keyboard that would have weighted and touch sensitive keys and give me a piano feel. I live in an apartment on the top floor, so my real piano lives at my parents' house. I am an experienced piano player (30 years). It is a bit heavy, but I am not planning to travel with it. It satisfies my cravings to play the piano with the touch sensitive keys and the piano sound. It can be turned up, but I don't usually turn the volume all the way up since I just play it for me (and my husband and pets). I'm not much for the bells and whistles, but it's nice to play around with for fun. It's perfect for the amount of money I had to spend.
