Great deal for the money.
I bought this piano for my wife, who has been learning and practicing for the past few years. We returned her mother's Yamaha keyboard, which was servicable for practice. However, before I purchased this, I asked her if she was really serious and she was. We set this up on Christmas day and I was astounded by the feel and sound of this electric piano. I played a few bars from a couple of Christmas carols to get the feel and tone, but the demo really displayed the true versatility of this piano. Obviously, if you play a piano professionally, this is not going to meet your needs, but for those of us who are amateur pianists and want a little bit more than a plasctic keyboard from Wally World, this is the ticket. It even looks elegant and expensive. My wife put some headphones on and practiced for many hours last night. She really likes it.
Solid amateur piano.

I was looking for an 88 key digital piano at the lower end of the price spectrum for gigs. I bought the Williams Allegro because it had hammer action keys and was pretty inexpensive. The first one sounded so poorly in the upper registers that I sent it back after emailing Williams and having them say what I was experiencing must be a fault. They actually called Musician's Friend who then called me and sent a prepaid RMA Label. Nice Service!Unfortunately the second Allegro was identical, since there was no actual fault, merely really poor sound reproduction. Basically the keyboard was unusable above G5 in any voice except that of the Church Organ. The piano voices clunked or made almost no sound, some organ or electric piano voices had weird warbles, strings sounded like wind in the trees, and other harmonics were too strange to describe. All of this happened only on certain keys above about G5, so that two adjacent keys would make very different sounds....really only the middle octaves sounded reasonable. I even sent a sound file of the second unit to Williams, who finally conceded that "a firmware revision is in the works, no release date has been set."I gave up and upgraded to a Korg SP-250, which is most definitely worth twice the price of the Williams. Musician's Friend really came through for me, giving me two free shipping returns and a lot of advice via email and on the phone. It just took a while before I had to concede that you just can't get a decent sounding weighted hammer action 88 key Digital Piano for less than $700.Older but wiser by nearly two months, :)Rocky

This is a good value for the price. I took piano lessons as a teen and am trying to learn to play again as a hobby. Shipping was extremely fast, I got the keyboard before the sheet music I ordered! Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:
Ive had this keyboard for about a year now, and in a years time, the right speaker blew out, the susatin pedal quit working, and some of the keys are kind of sticking down(not as springy as they should be.) Now,Im a guitar player dabbling in piano, so this is not my main instrument i.e. I didnt play it that much or gig w/ it.Ilooked up cases for it to try to keep it well protected but the hard cases for a full size keyboard like this cost as much if not more than the keyboard itself!! The weighted keys are nice and feel like a real piano. The sound of the keyboard however was sub-par. even before the speaker blew out. And you dont have many sound options to choose from to begin with. Also, there is no on-board EQ. I noticed whenever plugged into a PA system, this keyboard comes off way too bright. All treble, no bass. So it takes a decent mixer if you plan on playin this in a band setting. Also, there is only a MIDI out, and a 1/4" out. So no XLR here. For the money, its nice having a full 88 weighted keys, but in the long run Id be better off with a better quality unit. I already had to go online and purchase a more heavy duty foot pedal to replace broken one.

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:
This piano is great for the price if you need something with touch-sensitive, weighted keys to practice on. It's pretty heavy, so it's not really very portable. Sound is great through headphones so you don't disturb others. It's okay through the on-board speakers, but not fantastic.
The only bad thing I have to say about this is that the pedal is very poor quality. It lasted me about a year before it started going out. I purchased the M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal to replace it, and it is awesome!

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:
I was worried this would be a big piece of junk since it's the cheapest, weighted-key digital piano you can buy, but I'm pleased to say it's actually pretty nice.
It doesn't compare to my baby grand, of course, but for gigging around this summer, it'll do just fine. If this was my main instrument, I'd want a better one though.
The pedal is one of those cheap, square ones and there's no harpsichord setting on it, but the organ setting is impressive.
The first piano setting is more realistic than the second, which has a bit of a cheesy, haunting echo to it.
It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but then it didn't cost much. Would definitely recommend for casual players or students.

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:
The first piano came with a slight defect. M.F. made it so easy for me to exchange. Only 6 days after I sent the first one back (for free I might add) I recieved a perfect one in the mail. There's nothing like the feel of playing a piano. This one feels great and sounds good. Sustained notes tend to sound electronic, but overall, for the price, a great instrument.

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:
I read a lot of negative reviews about the sound of this electric piano, mostly in it's unrealistic sound of a piano. I admit, the built in speakers leave much to be desired, but they do what's needed in a practice situation.
To get the most out of this unit, you need external sound sources. Being that I play other instruments, I used the audio output on the keyboard and ran it to my guitar amplifier. It sounds much, much better than the on-board speakers, and if you are playing this live, you would run it out to an external source anyway, not use the on-board speakers. So for it's most important use, I think it sounds fantastic.
The keys respond fantastic, and it's got the ability to adjust the sensitivity. If the default doesn't work for you, you can make it more sensitive so you don't have to hit it too hard, and if you are heavy handed, you can make it less sensitive so it doesn't sound like everything you play is accented. It's a great piano.

I bought this piano for my wife to begin to play on. I have played for years, but she wanted something inexpensive to start with, while still being more than a 1980's keyboard. This piano fits the bill perfectly. She loves it!
