OVERVIEW

Portable piano with power supply, sustain pedal, and headphones.

Williams Legato is an affordable digital piano with 88 semi-weighted keys, five great sounds (piano, electric piano, organ, synth, and bass) and built-in speakers. It also features split/layer function (to combine sounds) and a built-in metronome. This ultra-portable piano is perfect for performing and practicing. This version also includes the ESS1 Essentials Pack with power supply, sustain pedal, and a pair of headphones.

Voices
The Legato piano has 5 built-in voices. Each voice may be selected one at a time. They can be layered to produce two voices at once, or assigned to the left or right hands in the split mode. Voices include: Piano, Electric Piano, Organ, Synth and Bass.

Split Mode
Split Mode allows the keyboard to be divided into two sections so that different voices may be played with the left and right hands. The volume may be independently adjusted for each voice, the Split Point (the highest note played with the left hand) may be adjusted and the Split Voice may be changed as desired.

Reverb and Chorus Buttons
The Reverb and Chorus effects may be applied to each voice individually and will be retained even when the power is turned off. To apply either effect, press either button. The button will light and the effect will be heard when the piano is played. To turn off the effect, press the button of the desired effect again and the LED light will go off.

Great for weekend warriors like me!!

For the money, tough to complain. Well constructed, good voices. The key action is a little stiff/heavy but maybe that's something to get used to.

I got this to loan out to new students who have no keyboard. It gives parents time to shop around. The saying is true that you get what you pay for...and for the price, it's satisfactory for the purpose. The touch is not a true weighted hammer action, but there is some resistance and moderate dynamic control (touch sensitivity). The sounds are decent, although the tiny speakers have limited resonance. There are line-out jacks (RCA) for external speakers, which is a nice feature.

Comments about Williams Legato Digital Piano with ESS1 Essentials Pack:

I got this as a studio instrument, so bandmates wouldn't have to set up a keyboard for every rehearsal. But the key action is bouncy and strange. Very unnatural.

Comments about Williams Legato Digital Piano with ESS1 Essentials Pack:

I bought this to use with my KORG and KURZWEIL rack units but the Wiiliams only had USB to MIDI whereas my rack units are the "old" 7 pin MIDI. Lesson learned; I returned it.

Comments about Williams Legato Digital Piano with ESS1 Essentials Pack:

This keyboard is really nice because it's super lightweight and with the right stand, pretty compact. With multiple hobbies between my partner and I in a one-bedroom apartment, the less space something can take, the better. The keys aren't fully weighted, but weighted enough that the transition from keyboard to actual piano shouldn't be too jarring. Good sound, no real complaints thus far.

Comments about Williams Legato Digital Piano with ESS1 Essentials Pack:

My 15 year old grand daughter is in love with her new piano. The 88 keys, semi weighted, the sound , the ease of set up and the immediate gratification to be able to start learning new music, all contributed to one awesome Christmas.
And bonus to me, is the promise credit for the difference on the Black Friday price. Looking forward to getting it.

Comments about Williams Legato Digital Piano with ESS1 Essentials Pack:

Very realistic sounds. The piano sounds very close to the pianos I grew up with. The keys don't have a real piano feel to them though so it's going to take some time to get use to. The keyboard is a bit heavy but well built. Easy to use. I like it so far.

Comments about Williams Legato Digital Piano with ESS1 Essentials Pack:

Bought as an upgrade to a non-velocity-sensitive keyboard, mostly for my daughter's practice (6 years old; first foray into piano lessons). Meant to save it for next year but brought it out early to help her get used to sensitive keys since her first recital would be on a grand piano. The plan worked and we'll be glad to keep this around, especially once she learns pedals (I don't have one for that other keyboard).

Comments about Williams Legato Digital Piano with ESS1 Essentials Pack:

Bought this when it was on Stupid Deal. It was so cheap it was hard to turn it down. I wanted to see what the "bottom of the todum pole" 88 keyboard was like. Plus it never hurts to have a backup. I normally play a dual stack in my band (MO-8 on bottom, SK1 on top), and my main home practice keyboard is a P-105. Needless to say, you get what you pay for in a keyboard. Not bashing this model at all. The built in speakers are not very loud and do not carry bass well. However if you run the line out into a decent amplifier, it's really not bad at all. The keys are very cheap feeling. Not a bad thing because the keys are what usually adds the weight; And this keyboard is super light. The biggest drawback I have noticed is the memory. This model does not have enough memory to hold a note on the left hand and do a gliss with the right. The sound cuts out an octave at a time. Luckily this will effect very few people, especially students.

Comments about Williams Legato Digital Piano with ESS1 Essentials Pack:

This is a decent piano but that is as far as I would go. Cheap with very few useful features. The chorus effect is almost non-existent and Reverb is not very good. The only OK sound it has is the piano. The so called semi weighted keys have about zero resistance and fell nothing like a real keyboard . Obviously made for kids or a practice keyboard that is disposable. Not ever going to use this to gig with for any reason. I would advise people to save up money and buy a real keyboard with actual good sounds and effects. Even at the SDOD I feel like I overpaid for it. You do get what you pay for.
