If in doubt on whether to buy this or spend more money on a Yamaha, or Roland or something else..... Look no farther ! I feel you will be pleased with this....
This has several features that are a plus. It is very easy to record songs to the computer. The different voices are also a plus.... I was expecting a few different piano sounds, but was pleased to find out it is like a standard keyboard, with many voices.
As far as quality...... I was very impressed with this instrument. I was expecting far less when I ordered it, but was pleased when I opened the box, and started putting it together. It is a little heavy to move around, but who wants to move a full size piano very often. It is very sturdy, and the finished product will add to any home. It is a good deal for any home
We bought this on sale and was surprised at the reviews that it had, so that is what actually sold the product, It has good reviews, and I totally agree with them. I was expecting a lot less than what we actually received. For the money, dont waste it on a keyboard! This is your best value for the money
Comments about Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano:
I recently purchased this piano for myself and my kids, as we have a couple of rinky dink Casio and Yamaha's Synths laying around . . . but they're not pianos. THIS is a piano . . . digital though it may be, it sounds better than any spinet you'll find at twice the price, and it's not going to go out of tune on you!!! Ever! Nor is it portable, it's designed to sit stationary in your home, like any piano, and it weighs a hefty 150+ lbs. It is not a toy . . . I read all the review I could before making this purchase... I found any negatives are subjective compared to my experience. It assembles in less than a half hour, and they even give you an authentic screwdriver to do the job! Short screws as some complained,, not here. I swear, people that complain about a value like this are nuts!
I've been buying musical instruments for the last 45 years, have spent thousands and thousands on instruments. This is a great little keyboard and my gut tells me, this family will be enjoying it for many years to come, for less than pennies a day.
Quite frankly, I haven't had time to test all the features... I bought it for the piano aspects.
My kids have been tinkering with all the other sounds, drum kits, etc. The specs spelled out all the features and there was more there than I needed... the kids read the specs also and they saw things that they wanted, , , like the sequencer, and the song tutorials...etc. The Grand Piano sounds excellent to me, I can write whatever song I want with this instrument.
Right, it's not "real wood", but most likely neither is most of your house, in fact there's probably a lot of press board in your house. This piano is build like a tank, does not feel cheap or shaky. It's like a spinet piano, only better, it's digital! the weighted feel and touch of the keys is silky and responsive.. and velocity sensitive!!. (i.e. the softer or harder you hit them, the softer or louder the sound... just like a real piano, or close anyway).
I'd have been a fool to pass on this deal! I looked at several options... I'm glad I took this shot.
Comments about Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano:
Unlike previous reviews, I found the parts to fit together very well without any modifications and although there were no assembly instructions, it came with a screwdriver (and wrench for the matching bench) and was very straightforward and easy to assemble. Only 5 basic pieces and hardware.
Sound quality is very good at low volume through the built-in speakers or through headphones. Digital pianos naturally don't have the same huge sound as acoustic pianos on their own. I bought it for my daughter to use in her room for practice alone without having to use our acoustic piano in the living room and she loves it. I would not hesitate to purchase the piano again.
The Symphony has lots of different piano, organ and instrument sounds along with built in rhythms and metronome, midi & audio connections. Not a high-end synthesizer by any stretch, but I dare you to find a nicer keyboard comparison for the price. Seems very well made, I expect it to last for many years.
Being a long time musician with a lot of high-end musical gear, I am giving the piano an overall score of 8 out of 10 only because a 10 would cost thousands of dollars. The Williams Symphony gives you a lot of bang for the buck.
Nice features for the price.
Very impressed with the quality.
Similar to pianos costing 3x as much.
Comments about Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano:
Very good value: good sound and features for the price.Negatives are all tolerable for the value you are getting: 1)Components do not line up when putting the thing together, had to drill and improvise. 2)F keys cause audible vibration in the circuitry components (resolved by headphones or alternate speakers). 3)Power button pressed while wearing headphones causes loud burst of static in your ears that will scare you and possibly cause ear damage - take them off before shutting this thing off.
Comments about Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano:
I'm a guitarist and I wanted to learn to play keyboard for ear training, composition, and theory reasons. I didn't want a slab, because let's face it, I won't be playing it out of the house so portability wasn't a factor to me. Also, I wanted something that looked nice. This fit the bill across the board. I'm sure a pianist would have a more sensitive ear but the samples, particularly the grand piano, sound fairly organic to me. The speakers are only serviceable and if you want to love this keyboard, you're going to have to plug it into a monitor or plug in some headphones. The weighting of the keys is alright as far as I can tell. When I go to my piano lesson and play on the acoustic piano, it's not a difficult transition. So go for it.
Comments about Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano:
I've had my piano about 3 weeks now and just love it. I was playing on an electric keyboard and wow, what a difference! It plays very close to a real piano. Foot pedals are a little stiff but I'm getting used to it so no big deal. It has a very classy look to it so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and saw that it's not a cheapy version like some may think because of the price. Of course it's not top of the line but very comprible. I will be getting some extra speakers or monitors because the sound is a little muffled so it can be hard to hear sometimes. When I hooked it up to my surround sound stereo system, wow, what a great sound. Thanks Williams company; you made a great little piano!!
Comments about Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano:
The previous reviewer was correct in saying the speakers placement make them muddy.I took a pair M-Audio monitors and plugged them into the audio outs and it sounds fantastic. The sounds are great. I only gave a 4 on quality because the instructions are fair at best and the screws that hold the rear panel on could be longer. Both items would cost nothing for Williams to fix. I highly recommend this for a practice piece or someting for the house that the family can learn on. It also looks fantastic.

i like it a lot, but the plunking noise the keysmake by themselves is just obnoxiously loud.. . . othr than that its great
Comments about Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano:
It sounds great. My son is always playing it. I would recommend this piano to any one whether you've been playing for a while or just starting out. The cabinet looks nice, isn't top of the line but passable.
Comments about Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano:
This is the best full-sized console digital piano available for under $1,000. I love the piano. It looks great, plays great, and sounds awesome. Sound quality is as good as instruments costing 5 times as much. Not as full-featured as more expensive pianos and fit and finish is probably not as good as those expensive pianos. But for playability and sound at this price, it has no equals.
