      not so hot

Comments about Yamaha CP50 88 Key Stage Piano:

Our trio's piano player had me order this piano to retire the 10 year old YAMAHA 88 (don't remember it's model number) But he was very unsatisfied with the sounds; none of the sounds were as good as the old piano, including the electric, acoustic and vibes. After hearing them, I had to agree that the old piano was markedly better.

      I like it

      By Solarflux

Comments about Yamaha CP50 88 Key Stage Piano:

This keyboard has fantastic action. It is a dream to play. The keys are nice and nuanced - play in the dynamic range pppp to ffff no problem. The piano samples are good - just make sure you buy something that can reproduce the full range of a piano with clarity. The non-piano sounds are ok. The Rhodes is fairly close to the real thing. Strings and horns or kinda meh, but I'm sure they are comparable to what you would find on this keyboard's big brothers and cousins. Anyway, don't buy this keyboard for those; buy this keyboard if you want something with a decent piano sound that's got great action, and you don't want to spend a lot of money. Would buy again. Not sure if there's anything comparable in this price range.

      Great digital piano

      By Jarod Reichle

Comments about Yamaha CP50 88 Key Stage Piano:

I've owned this piano for about 6 months now and I'm still blown away by the sound quality. The modeled grand piano reproduces very accurate piano sounds with great transient response. It has more than imaginable amount of selectable sounds to choose from: horns, ele piano, strings, synth...etc. The one problem I had with it was after a few weeks of owning it, the sustain pedal would only work "sometimes". I was moving it around a lot though and eventually placed it on the keyboard stand and left it there since. I love the fact that it also has MIDI IN/OUT/THRU. I run it through my mac with Logic Pro and it's perfect for laying keyboard tracks. Doesn't have built-in speakers so you need headphones, use the Direct Outs L&R, or USB to your DAW for monitoring through your near fields. Great product I've used everyday and well-worth the money.

      AMAZING

Comments about Yamaha CP50 88 Key Stage Piano:

This keyboard is absolutley incredible. The sounds are crisp and perfect, as are the keys. At first glance, it pretends to have only one piano sound--- but it actually has about 10 piano 'performances'. There are 120 total performances, which is essentially 120 additional. And you can save 120 of your own. Just a great keyboard, it's as simple as that.

      CP50 Review

      By EPawn

      from North Carolina

Comments about Yamaha CP50 88 Key Stage Piano:

I love the keyboard. After owning Motif 8es and Yamaha s90 & s90es its a little different to navigate. Its lighter and has everything you want to play live and nothing you dont need. I do not like the power adapter and wish it had universal powercord. Horns, Strings and vintage keyboards are great like the Motif 8es. Overall a great live instrument.
