A MOTIF in a rack and then some.
The Yamaha MOTIF Es Rack Module has a proprietary sound chip that includes expanded polyphony (128 notes), and effects (4 inserts in mix mode). The core voices are identical to MOTIF plus 2 additional preset voice banks and 256 user editable voices (twice the user area of MOTIF). MOTIF voices can be loaded directly into the rack via MIDI. Newly developed reverb algorithm. In 16-part multitimbral mode up to 4 voices can have their insertion effects enabled simultaneously, and each of the 16 parts has it's own 3-band EQ.
If you already have a MIDI keyboard, this is definitely the MOTIF to call your own. Do it now.

The sounds are simply inspiring. I'm in my 50's now, I started on the Hammond B-3 and as each new piece of gear was released I was always first to buy whatever was hot. I sure wish I had the Motif ES way back when. And now as I play other brands I am satasified that I bought a great piece of gear. I love the Hammond B-3 with an extremely authentic Leslie Speaker simulation. And the "Sweet Flute" sound is very authentic. One can even 'over-blow' a note just a real flute player does. These features are typical of Yamaha's dedication to realism. Then on the other hand the rhythmic synth loops are definitely out of the realm of traditional instruments, which is another strength to this remarkable instrument. First, I compliment Musician's Friend for having this product, great assistance in the purchasing process, and getting this excellent module to me expeditiously. Now, the Motif Rack ES is exceptional. Sound quality superb. A hugh number of usable sounds. I love the extensive arpeggiator and will use it at church and on the road. There's a slight learning curve invloved but after an afternoon of enjoyable playing with it, I felt very comfortable. A wise purchase for me.
