OVERVIEW

A 76-key, portable digital keyboard with piano-style keys, USB connectivity, and a lesson mode for beginners.

The Yamaha ultra-portable NP-V60 ensemble piano has 76 graded, soft-touch-action, piano-style keys; USB computer connectivity; a large selection of realistic-sounding voices; and a "Your Tempo" lesson mode that lets you learn to play piano at your own pace. It is a relatively inexpensive 76-key keyboard with built-in speakers and a great-sounding piano timbre, along with other primary keyboard sounds.

Note: This keyboard does not ship with batteries or a power supply. We enthusiastically recommend the Yamaha SK-D2 Survival Kit, which contains the appropriate power supply for your keyboard, as well as a footswitch, a set of headphones, a two-year extended warranty, rebate coupons and helpful software. #H65814

Comments about Yamaha NPV60 76-Key Mid-Level Piaggero Ultra-Portable Digital Piano:

This turned out to be my best option for a super lightweight digital piano that is also capable of producing a decent realistic digital piano sound, plus a variety of good electric piano and other sounds. I wanted something easy to take to rehearsals, jam sessions, and smaller gigs. Nice touch sensitivity, although the keys take some getting used to if you are used to more weighted keys. But, better keys than the synthesizers I tried. That's the trade off for a reducing weight. I play mostly jazz genres. This'll work. It has the built-in speakers that are great for practicing, but really sounds great through a quality amp. I chose this model as the arpeggio feature in there 80 model would not have been useful.

Comments about Yamaha NPV60 76-Key Mid-Level Piaggero Ultra-Portable Digital Piano:

Ok, the build quality seems great, however, the piano sound is not as good as the NP-31 and thats what I bought it for, as a step up from the NP-31. Guess they skimped on the Piano sound to add all the others and extra features. If you want a budget, good quality piano sound (external speakers required) don't get this on, the NP-31 would be a much better choice. If you want a keyboard or cheap arranger, this may be for you.

    great beginner instrument

    By

Comments about Yamaha NPV60 76-Key Mid-Level Piaggero Ultra-Portable Digital Piano:

I am a guitar player, but every time I go to my grandparents house I play their piano. I love playing the piano but I really just fiddled around on it using what music theory I know and applying it. Recently I have really been wanting to learn how to play the piano more in depth, to really know how to play it. I looked on line at a lot of different keyboards. The reason I choose this keyboard is because it is light, inexpensive, can run on batteries, and has good sounds. The sounds are not amazing but at the price you can't expect it to be professional quality. I really love this instrument I've had it now for about 3 weeks, and my playing has already come a long way from where it was. I would make this purchase again.I would recommend also buying a sustain pedal, stand, and power supply.
good quality, solid build yet still very light
I think it is a great value, super cheap, tons of features, and good sound quality.
