Great product. I purchased it for my wife who was accustomed to playing on a Baby Grand. She loves it. My only negative is that the power cord was not included. I have no problem paying the extra few bucks for the power cord--I just wish that I would have know that I needed it. That way I would not have to go out and buy 6 "AA" batteries at the last minute. They do not even show the power cord as a "recommended option". That needs to be corrected. When I called to say that I was missing the power cord--I got the impression that everyone who buys this product has the same problem.

I puchased this unit for home use. It is less than one month old, and I have begun to notice a distinct metallic "clink" on the tone from the C above middle C. It is there when played either through the built-in speakers or an external amp. If gets no worse, I'll live with it. Don't want to go through the trouble, Or expense of sending it back.

    Beyond Perfect For Beginners

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

I was looking for a good keyboard so I could write my songs without annoying my whole family with a real piano, but rather with valume control. I decided this keyboard when I wasn't even looking for one because it was so cheap. Not only is it cheap, it also has great sound, nearly 500 voices including the perfect bass sound, drum sound, and next to perfect brass, violin, cello, and piano. You can change octaves from -2 to 2, and transpose from -12 to 12 (giving you the range from nearly two octaves below the piano, to two octaves above). However, this is only a beginner keyboard only. The keys feel nothing like real piano keys and are much smaller. Also, when you get more into piano, you really learn how much you need 88 full sized weighed action keys.I would still be using this keyboard on occasion, even if I got the most expensive keyboard in the world though!

    I Love This Keyboard

    By Sidney

    from Roanoke, VA

I bought this keyboard because it was pretty cheap and I wanted a keyboard to use with my studio's sequencing software for my songwriting on my computer. I have had this keyboard board for about 2 months and I just love it. I have sat and played and played for hours. It's been the first place I head for when I come home from work these past couple of months. I'm using it for my songwriting and I just love spending time on it. I was impressed with it the first time I set it up and played it straight out of the box. It is an entry level keyboard but you can't beat the value or the sound of this little keyboard. It is jammed pack with tons of features for a keyboard in this price range. I never had a Yamaha keyboard before, but I love it. I'm planning on getting a full 88 key keyboard from Yamaha as well.It works extremely well with my Cakewalk Sonar 8 Producer software and I'm sure it will work well with all MIDI capable software. I also purchased the Yamaha UX16 USB MIDI cable to patch the keyboard into my computer. Be sure to get the survival kit for the AC adapter, headphones and sustain pedal.

    Great Board for Learners

I bought this 'board for my daughter who is learning to play. As with all Yamaha products, it sounds great, is rugged (kid friendly) and has a lot of features. Even the simple models like this one provides a decent lot of options and opportunity for fun and creativity. I have more expensive synths/workstations, and even I have a lot of fun on it just tinkering around with my daughter. I take this on road trips/vacations too. it's lasted for 2 years now. Great tool for learning, or just having fun with! Highly recommend for kids, or anyone who just wants something to play for fun, practice, or w/e.

Well, I bought this key-board in a music shop and I love the heck out of it! It has an extremely nice grand piano sound and some exodic features! The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it has no way to 'whammy' but for the price thats kind of expected.buy yours today! I promise you will be satisfied!

    Satisfied

I wasn't expecting to come home with one, but when I played this, I really had to get it. I don't have a drummer, so I mainly wanted this for the drums. Daily I record myself on the keyboard drums and they sound terrific. The way the drum kit is arranged on the keyboard makes it real easy to play any genre on drums. I make drop loops from blues to metal. The synth voices are pretty great, you really have to look deep if you want to get a good synth voice. The piano voices sound great also. The sensitive keys are a huge plus. I have yet to get a MIDI chord and hook it up to the computer, but it seems like it would be pretty simple to use. I have recorded songs I made on the keyboard and transferred them to my computer via Line-In. And my recordings come out pretty decent. It has a ton of great features that you keep discovering the more you use this keyboard. I wouldn't expect this keyboard to be so cheap in price because of how well its made and how great it sounds. It's also very light. If you don't have an AC adapter, the battery life isn't that bad. They lasted about a month and a half with me playing it for an hour a day. My only compliant is there's not enough song spaces on it. There is only 5 slots you can record on, and I enjoy all the songs I make on this, so it's hard for me to delete them. Overall I?m glad I got this keyboard.

Can something so cheep be so good?

    By Anonymous

I recently got this key-board, and I don't know how to tell all it can do in just a comment. Although it is only a 61 key key-board, it can be tuned to go much lower and higher than a full 88-key piano. There are 483 sound settings including grand piano, drums, violen, ect.. Look up Unforgotten by Halo 3 on Youtube, this key-board can play that song (both key-board and piano part) and sound almost exactly like it.There is also a data base setting where you play the melody in the treble line, and chords in the bass line, based on the chords it will add full accumpiament. This setting is good for improving on the key-board.The fact that it can play nearly any instroment ever invented allows you to be able to write music and add every part you want. The guitar and bass guitar settings aren't that great though. The only downside about the key-board is how sensitive the keys are. When doing a glissando you get alot of noise from the keys going down to hard and popping back up to hard. Other than that, this key-board is amazing!

    Love this keyboard

    By Kevin Eller

    from Mountain City, TN

This is the keyboard I started out with, and I've had great experiences with it. If you are a starter and can't get a digital piano, this is the way to go! Be sure to buy a stand though.
