Poor Initial EQ & Live Performance

Comments about Shure PGXD14/93 Digital Wireless System with WL93 Lavalier Mic:

I have used this lapel for two years as a sound man in a live corporate setting. The speakers who use this mic struggle to develop satisfaction with how they sound through this lapel. This mic requires a copious amount of E.Q. at the mixer to achieve a "true-to-source" sound. Without any E.Q., this mic sounds like it has a high pass filter on it, with a hint of tunnel-sounding high mid, and a muddy low mid. Once a satisfactory E.Q. is achieved, I lack the ability to raise the speaker to a satisfactory volume. Without the use of a compressor, this mic has several dead-spots on left and right. The only upside is that it does not click, pop, or lose connection. It is not unusable, you can get a good sound for audio recordings, but live through P.A. systems is its weakness. I do experience low-range feedback without a low-cut around 180hz, and experience high-frequency feedback without decreasing most of my high E.Q.s, but even after decreasing the highs, I still experience high-end feedback at higher volumes. I use a Berhinger X-32 soundboard that works great with all other microphones.

Excellent Product

Comments about Shure PGXD14/93 Digital Wireless System with WL93 Lavalier Mic:

We bought this for our preacher to use on Sunday mornings since he walks around a lot. It is unobtrusive and sounds terrific. It was so simple to setup, basically just plug it in. We were thinking about buying a headset mic to use with this system if the lavalier mic didn't meet our expectations but it has met them easily. No headset mic for us!
I can't believe how nice the WL93 Lavalier Mic sounds.

Excellent Wireless Mic System

By DJ Smitty Entertainment

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about Shure PGXD14/93 Digital Wireless System with WL93 Lavalier Mic:

Overall a great system.
Baee unit and mic pack are solid. The quality and dynamic range produced by the system are excellent.
I've tried other "cheaper" models and been burned. You get what you pay for.
