Comments about Evans Hybrid Marching Snare Drum Batter Head:
I put this on my DW Knurled Brass snare (6.5 X 14) and it gave me the best sound i can get. Very controlled with nice overtones. I've been through many heads and this is the best for my snare. I highly recommend this head for the working drummer. My Brass snare is pretty loud so i wanted a head that can bring out the beauty in it. Evans Hybrid Marching snare head!!! Look no more.
Comments about Evans Hybrid Marching Snare Drum Batter Head:
These heads are pretty good. Probably the best thing is just how awesome they look, much more interesting then plain white marching heads. The sound is a little lower pitched than a white head but it's still pretty good. I also have this head on pretty tight and its been fine, no signs of damage. If these had a higher pitched sound to them they would be perfect but other that that they are great quality heads.
Comments about Evans Hybrid Marching Snare Drum Batter Head:
this head must be tuned properly to start but after you get it set you can punish it time and time again i use it on a maple 6/14 snare in the studio and live its the best investment i have made so far i can go thru up to 2 batter heads in a month this one has lasted over 3 so far
Comments about Evans Hybrid Marching Snare Drum Batter Head:
I don't know what anyone could see wrong with this head. It's made out of fibers that are very similar to clothing, though when placed on the snare and stretched out feel very similar to my Evans Onyx tom and bass skins. This made my already great sounding Danny Carey signature drum sound even more focused than the beatiful tone it alreadly gave off with a factory skin. I liked this so much I bought the bottom, Evans Hybrid Snare Side head, immediately after tuning this one and playing it. The Hybrid is a little pricey, but definately a very strong head and worth the money if you want a more focused sound. I personally am not a heavy hitter, but this would also be great for drummers who like to wildly thrash their drums and seem to go through heads weekly...
Comments about Evans Hybrid Marching Snare Drum Batter Head:
okay, so these are actually realy good. the only reason they might have sounded bad for anybody is because their tech doesn't know how to tune. evans hybrid heads are a really good porduct. especially for indoor. they produce a really clean, crisp sound and have great rebound. i highly recomend these for any serious musician who knows how to tune drums.
Comments about Evans Hybrid Marching Snare Drum Batter Head:
These heads are horrible! I'm on a highschool drumline and our tech ordered these for us along with the hybrid snare side head. They sound absolutely terrible. Remo Blackmax is definatly the way to go if you're looking for the best sound and durability. Don't waste your money on these heads!
