strider rocks

By classic sticks

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Ludwig Strider Snare Drum:

I purchased the strider snare drum in the 10" x 13" a few months ago and installed a remo black max marching snare head on it and a 16 strand snare wire(until I find a 24 for a 13", it comes with a 12 strand)wow what a crack!! This snare projects, tuned high or low, and it cuts through amplified music without being miced up. The strainer is not the best, but that's an easy upgrade. Solid deep maple tone that just penetrates. Thanks again LUDWIG!!

Comments about Ludwig Strider Snare Drum:

Ludwig Strider marching snare 10x13 Been playing over thirty years,I wanted a snare to cut through amplified sound without being miced, this one does!! I installed a Remo black max head and 16 strand snare wire. WOW, what a punch! tuned low or high sounds like a gunshot!! the band plays classic rock like Zep, Bad CO, Deep Purple and Aerosmith to name a few. this drum just plain puts out!! Who says wood snares don't rock?? Smokin drum, smokin price!!

Great snare

By GrungeRat

from Portland, OR

Comments about Ludwig Strider Snare Drum:

I went to see nirvana in wishkah in 1993. I couldn't help noticing the size of Dave Grohl's drums, especially his snare. I loved the sound of those drums. I bought this snare bout five years ago and still use it. I think it has the heaviest and most killer snare sound offered by any drum company. It is hands down the best snare I've ever played, live and in the studio.
