I marched Pearl drums throughout college and have had experience on every field snare on the market. What makes Pearl unique is that a customer has the ability to specify hardware color at little to no upcharge! Very ideal if appearance is a dominant factor in your choice for outfitting your line! The downside to this product is in the design. Tension bolts from the batter side thread directly into the tension posts that are utilized on the snare side head. High tension from Kevlar or Aramid based heads cause a "bowing" effect on the tension rods, thus causing friction in the threading for the snare side of the drum. This friction causes slightly more stress on the bottom head making it difficult to tune properly. On the upside, the drum features Pearls key ingrediant for a dark rich sound with the pre-aged vacuum sealed shell! For those who prefer a lower, warm range of sound this is the way to go! Overall the drum is a good choice for any line, if you can overlook some of the design flaws.

We use the white colored ones at my high school. After a few seasons, the white color turned to an ugly yellow and the Pearl symbol began to fall apart. One of the drums says EAR now.The tone is alright on snare drums, but with the tenor and bass models it sucks. They will not stay in tune for anything and sound does not travel. They sound great at first, but after 3 years, they suck.Don't buy these if you're looking for durability.

Comments about Pearl Championship Snare Drum:
My school has used these for the last 10 years, and they've been nothing less than reliable. We never had any problems with the design, and we've never encountered rusting. They are very easy to tune, and the lugs always match up great. Really great affordable drum!
Comments about Pearl Championship Snare Drum:
This is a great drum all you got to do is slap on a remo black max and a Evans hybrid side head and your ready to go.

Comments about Pearl Championship Snare Drum:
I used the Yamaha snare in High School. Tone is good but the pearl smokes it 100 to 1. I use this drum on my personal drum kit at home and I also use it for sticking training. mine is white and I have had NO problems with it!!!!
Comments about Pearl Championship Snare Drum:
I have owned this drum for two years now, and I am very happy with the purchase. This drum is very light weight , sounds awesome with kevlar heads if you tune it right ( i would go with white max on top, and evans hybrid on the bottom), and overall good looking. As far as features go it has awesome snare strainers with nice gut snares, great hardware (rings a bitt though), and the shell is very nicely crafted (still hasn't warped). the only downside to this drum is the fact that is doesn't have top snares. So if you're looking for a great sounding drum for a cheep price, this is the drum for you. BUY IT!!!!
Comments about Pearl Championship Snare Drum:
These drums are a very good purchase. My high school drum line uses them and after about five seasons, they've held up pretty good. Last year one got dropped on cement and the stand was bent but we replaced it and now it's fine. they don't scratch very easily and when they do scratch it's hardly noticeable. Very good drums overall. The one problem with them is that they need tuned quite often ... about every show or two.

My high school uses these drums, and even after the many years my school has used these, they still sound great. We have even dropped them on the cement a few times(accident) and they are still almost un-scathed! Pretty good drum overall.
Comments about Pearl Championship Snare Drum:
our high school uses these drums and they have amazing tonal quality.
