Comments about Pearl Competitor Marching Tom Set:
We had been using a set of old quads(like 1980's?) for a long time. We finally were able to buy a new drumline. When she said they would be Pearls, i was really excited, because i know pearl to have really good quality on lower end stuff. We bought the 8, 10, 12, 13 config. But These were a huge let down. They are supposed to be "lightweight" but they are just as heavy as our set of Fiberglass ones.(due to the mahongony construction. They also feel very fragile. The old ones were held together with duct tape and all thread, and i could still carry to people on them without them flexing. I wouldnt do that with these, cause im scared they are gonna come apart when i hit them. Plus, there is no place to put a quint tom, which really sucks. I havent used a lot of tenors, but i know if all of them are like this, i may go into Drum Craft.(PS WHen i say i own them, down below, i dont technically own them, but im very close.
