      OVERVIEW

Pearl Competitor Series marching snare drums are are perfect for the beginning player all the way up to the most accomplished of musicians.

The shells of the Pearl's Competitor Series drums are made from 100% mahogany and are 8-ply. Covered in a brilliant pure white finish, these shells are rich in upper harmonics which greatly enhances presence. The 12-strand synthetic gut snares that these drums utilize are both sensitive and powerful. The drums feature 10 high-tension lugs, all of which are die-cast zinc, a style that helps to permit even tuning. The 1.6mm Steel Hoops used by these drums only enhance the strength and durability of this already fine piece of craftsmanship. These drums are dazzling in every facet of their being and are not to be missed.

There is an optional Marching Snare Drum Carrier available, the CXS1 (#106363823) available. The CXS1 Carrier also requires a Snare Attachment, the CXSA-1, (#H75428) for marching use.

        • Sensitive

        Cons

        • Not For Drum Corps
        • Not versatile

        Best Uses

        • Hbcu Practice Drums
        • Showstyle Bands

Comments about Pearl Competitor Traditional Snare Drum:

This drum is NOT for drum corps. This drum is for show style bands or fife bands. It is a traditional snare so you do not have high tension.

It is a great drum if you are looking for practice drums for a collegiette drumline or showstyle high school drums.

You can easily attach your leg rest and level bar for a sling.

So overall, the price is great if you're going traditional.

        Nice!

Comments about Pearl Competitor Traditional Snare Drum:

I got the black one and I play for a Panamanian Marching band in Maryland. Now 3 guys in my band got this drum because they love how my drum sounds, but I had to tune it and buy a new snare head with a Remo and also replace the wires. Now my drum sound louder.
