These are great sticks. I first found out about these sticks from one of my favorite drummers, so I figured I'd check them out and see what some other people are playing with. As soon as I picked up these sticks I knew I was in for a work out.

These are fantastic for practicing and warming up. They're thick and heavy enough to make it feel like you're working, but not overly cumbersome for most, otherwise you wouldn't be able to use them. I've never used them for marching, but I'm used them for practice and warming up on a practice pad and for playing on my regular kit.

These last a while, and I hit pretty hard. I did just break my first pair, though. I've since ordered two more. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

The Alco Snare line switched to these from our usual Innovate Percs. These sticks feel great, and are very durable. Two pairs lasted me a season, as compared to 1 pair of I.P's a week. They are a bit shorter, and have excelent response to kevlar heads.

      Awesome!

Comments about Vic Firth Corpsmaster MS4 StaPac Snare Drumsticks:

If you hit hard or just want a great workout stick, buy this product! I use it for everything, practice, marching snare, and kit.
Perfect Stick -- if you roll this stick on a flat surface, it will roll straight and there will be no wobble in the stick at all. (This is the case for all Vic Firth products however)

Weight - Consistently between 3.5 ounces and 4.1 ounces. Mostly 3.8 ounces.

I have been using a pair for 6 months (I probably rimshot 10000 times a day; being completely serious) and they have only started to shave where I rimshot...I expect they will last another 6 months or longer.
As said above, they last forever.

      Great Sticks For Practicing!

Comments about Vic Firth Corpsmaster MS4 StaPac Snare Drumsticks:

I got these sticks a while ago. I don't use them for anything but practicing. I wouldn't try using them on a drum set (obviously because they're marching sticks), or even concert percussion. In my opinion, these are too nice of sticks to bang up on a marching snare or practicing on the ground at outdoor band rehearsals. These sticks are made to be heavy. Which is why they are so great for practicing. I like to use them for building my single stroke speed, or even doubles or tripples. They're heavier than most marching sticks. Your forearms WILL be sore after using these if you are not used to playing fast for longer periods of time. Great sticks. Highly recommended.

      Get ready to stretch!

      By Chris H.-0-W_1

Comments about Vic Firth Corpsmaster MS4 StaPac Snare Drumsticks:

These sticks are absolutely wonderful for working on your chops! My arms can go for hours with normal sticks, but it only takes minutes to start feeling the burn with these bad boys. Vic Firth really came up with a revolutionary practice stick for all players to build up their technique and speed. A bit pricier than most sticks, they are totally worth it.

      Great sticks

      By tenorguy

      from Colorado

Comments about Vic Firth Corpsmaster MS4 StaPac Snare Drumsticks:

these are really great sticks. My favorite things about them are that 1:they are pretty heavy and make you actually work your chops, 2: they have a GREAT feel, and 3: they are undipped. I hate dipped sticks because they feel all slimy and weird when you get sweaty hands. I only use these as practice sticks because my quadline uses the aungst Hybrids, which after a session with the MS4's feel like little twigs. Overall these sticks are great to play with and definitely push your chops.

      Feel the burn!

      By Justsomepercussionist

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Vic Firth Corpsmaster MS4 StaPac Snare Drumsticks:

These are possibly my favorite marching sticks that I've had the pleasure of using. These babies play through the head and, in the right hands, can coax audio perfection out of a snare or tenor; pianos that are warm and full, fortes that are rich without being overbearing, and rimshots with a perfect balance of head and rim sound. To get the full range of sound, however, one major hurtle for most people will be the weight. With the combined weight of almost a pound and nearly an inch shorter than many of Vic's other products, people who've forged their chops around Ralphies or similarly light sticks might find their arms burning like it's their first year on the line again. The wood used in these sticks not only give them their weight, but a strength that let them outlast virtually any other stick on the market, justifying their relatively high retail price by saving you the cost of replacements. Once you tame these beasts, their quality and lifespan will prove worth every penny.

      good purchase

      By shug jr

      from AZ

Comments about Vic Firth Corpsmaster MS4 StaPac Snare Drumsticks:

I mostly play drumset, and in marching band I play the tenors. But nothing beats these sticks. Ralph Hardimon's sticks are wimpy compared to these beasts. These are so incredible for rudiments, and for honing your technique. When I first used them, I got these crazy blisters on my fulcrums, and other various parts on my hands that I didn't know I was holding too tightly. After a few hours of honing my technique, these sticks don't give me any blisters anymore. They're incredible for learning how to use rebound to control your sticks.
