Ralph Hardimon Chop-Out Sticks

By Joe

from Long Island, New York

Comments about Vic Firth Ralph Hardimon Signature- Chop Out Practice Sticks:

These sticks are made from Sta-Pac wood, which looks like Red Oak furniture. They are very heavy and pack quite a pounding on playing surfaces, so be careful what you play on. These sticks should be used as a workout stick and not for extended playing. Beginners may fight the weight if they don't have proper technique. A beautiful stick to add to your collection.

Comments about Vic Firth Ralph Hardimon Signature- Chop Out Practice Sticks:

The rubber tips cracked on the first day of use. I've read reviews where the same thing has happened to others. Not sure if its a quality issue or if the product has been sitting in storage for too long. Worked great with the quadropad for the short time of use.

Comments about Vic Firth Ralph Hardimon Signature- Chop Out Practice Sticks:

This was a good stick for practice and improving stick speed and endurance; however the rubber bead ripped after only a week or 2 of use. You're better off using a pad and hammers than using the chop outs.

Comments about Vic Firth Ralph Hardimon Signature- Chop Out Practice Sticks:

i got these to use on my conga set so the rubber tips are almost like skin of fingertips. great for rhythm and keeping the beat. great for around the drums when you need more than slaps. very sturdy sticks, jackie chan would pick these if he was looking for a random item in a music shop to defend him self with. like the title notes, i would pick up some bicycle gloves or cheap driving gloves with some padding on them. Drum On!
