Marshall Silver Jubilee
At the heart of a Marshall Silver Jubilee amplifier stack, you'll find the Marshall 2555X Silver Jubilee 100 W Tube Guitar Head. It's been painstakingly designed to deliver the exact same tonal character as the original 2555 - Marshall even compared it against the 1987 model in its museum to make sure. Three decades of tech improvements have brought a few improvements, too: no more relay flickering issue, for instance, and no more heater noise. External bias points were added for re-valving and servicing, the output impedance selector has been replaced with a simpler bank of output jacks, and the multi-pin connectors were tweaked for a more secure fit. To put it simply, the 2555X takes everything that made the 2555 great and makes it even better by eliminating its few drawbacks.
Of course, once you get your hands on a 2555X amp head, you'll also need some speakers to connect it to. It'll drive most of your favorite cabinets, but if you want the full Marshall Silver Jubilee experience, why not go for the matched set? The speakers have been re-issued as well, in the form of the Marshall 2551BV Silver Jubilee Straight 4x12 Speaker Cabinet and the 2551AV Silver Jubilee Angled 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet. These come with the same Celestion Vintage 30 drivers as the originals, not to mention the same amazing looks. Looking for the whole stack?
