These cables are so cheap they are irresistible. They get the job done, but they are a weak, non-locking connection. That can be tricky on some boards. They fit my snake snuggly, so work fine there. They are also so cheap that I use them live when I worry that they might not all come home with me or get used by another band.

Don't expect amazing quality - probably don't do studio recordings with them - but they are great for what they are.

These cables are as cheap as any you're likely to find. That does NOT make them an automatic choice. Our church got these for the choir microphones and found soon after that they were not as durable as we needed. The strain-relief set-up did not prevent multiple failures of the solder connections. Even with good solder joints, the mechanical fit to our Shure SM-58 mic's was loose; this caused the mic's to cut out when the cord was moved. We've since replaced them with the only slightly more expensive D'Addario Planet Waves mic cables, which have much better fitting connectors and a two-year warranty.

In use at my house with a sensitive condenser microphone (Rode NT1), these same cables introduced intolerable AC hum and RFI noise that completely disappeared when I sprang for the high-end Mogami quad core cables.

They may be suitable for non-critical uses (where they won't be touched and there's no need for AC or RFI shielding). Otherwise, consider spending a bit more to get equipment that will last and not interrupt your sessions. No, you may not need the super-high-end cables, but something in between may be much more appropriate.

both of these starting making crackling noise and eventually stopped working. i undid the connection and one of the wires had come unsoldered and made the cable useless.

The wires are very fine and therefor don't take much rough use. The cables are still a bargain. I have been using 20 of them for 10 years at least once a month. They require repair at a rate of about 2 per year. Chaining together for distances of more than 20 feet works great and is much cheaper than long cables.

Cables seem to be well shielded from interference. Male connector works OK however the female connector is somewhat flimsy. I would hesitate on using these cables for live gigs. Wiring insulation is thinner than more quality cables. Using them for home studio works very well in fixed positions which is what I use them for, without any problems.
