Comments about Audix D-Clamp Percussion Mount Mic Clip:

I bought these to replace the plastic clip on type of mic holders I was using. The clip on type is hard to attach to the thicker die-cast rims on my Gretsch kits. These are made cheap and the quality is not too good but if you do not over tighten them they are functional and work well for attaching to thicker die-cast rims.

D-Clamp for bongos and Conga

By Steve P

from New Mexico

Comments about Audix D-Clamp Percussion Mount Mic Clip:

I've done enough work for free.
This clamp is perfect for congas and bongos. It holds the mic firmly, tilts to any position you want and does not color the mic pick-up with unnecessary vibrations. It tightens on the rod the way it should...and I'd advise not to overtighten it...because the clamp part is plastic and could break.I've had no trouble with my 2 clamps (I reordered after using the first one) .

Audix D-Clamp

By Tim-pP1nD

from Mid West

Comments about Audix D-Clamp Percussion Mount Mic Clip:

The Audix D-Clamp is great. Easy to use and very flexible. I use them on all different size and style drum kits and always find a great mic position. Don't over tighten it and they will last. I've been using mine for 2 to 3 shows a week for over a year now and no problems to report.I will be getting more for my other rigs.

Audix percussion mic clamp

By Marcus waters

from st louis area

Comments about Audix D-Clamp Percussion Mount Mic Clip:

Yes, it is true, we shouldn't tighten the clamp tighter than it needs to be. I've used the clip for about 6 good months and the last gig,"snap." It really should be made better. For a few bucks more they could build the clamp part out of metal. But until then......ho-hum..i'll order another.

Bad Quality Clamp

By DJBakan

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Audix D-Clamp Percussion Mount Mic Clip:

I got the Audix D-clamp and in the same day that I got it, I tried it on my Conga and while tightening the clamp cracked.I had to send it for a refund, no worth the price, the gooseneck and mic clip is not bad, but you will need to use other kind of clamp to use it in your instrument.

When Used PROPERLY, they're Great!

Comments about Audix D-Clamp Percussion Mount Mic Clip:

I see in the two previous reviews that both people broke the clamps, I have used these at MANY shows with our live sound company, never had any trouble, I suspect they were tightening them much harder than they need to be...you only need to snug it just enough to keep it from moving....

Broke after two practices

By Sean Emcee

from Carbondale, IL

Comments about Audix D-Clamp Percussion Mount Mic Clip:

This product broke after only using it twice. I ordered this product(2 of them) a few weeks ago along with a couple D-2's. I was mounting it to my drum last week and tightning it and it broke. I had to use a c-clamp from the hardware store to hold it on. A great idea really. Unfortunately, the part that screws on to the drum hardware is made out of plastic and is very cheap.
