Was having trouble keeping bullet strat in tune, this did the trick, really made a difference.
Only caution, when removing old nut with a small screwdriver a little piece of rosewood fingerboard chipped, fortunately this was a small piece above the nut and not on the side of fingerboard. It did not chip off all the way, so just glued it back and as good as new. So, may want to have a professional install or at least watch numerous videos on how to successfully take it off. Seemed possibly there was some glue or adhesive holding it on. I did not glue the new one on and just have it held in place by the strings.
Having a professional file the original could also be a fix, although I just went for this option. So just be careful when removing the old one. My strat is about a 2014 model and made in Indonesia.

While the product is as good as others have written, my problem with the nut overshadows those positive qualities. I have an older Squier Strat with a radiused nut slot and when I removed the center tab the nut goes too far into the slot causing the low E string to hit the end of the fretboard before the headstock. I even have staggered tuners that raise the E string a bit. I doubt if the slot was originally too deep because the original plastic nut wasn't very high and still didn't cause the string to hit the wood.

Comments about Graph Tech Slotted Trem-Nut for Stratocaster:

This is a drop in nut. Fit my start perfectly. U may have to sand a little for string height. I personally like these better than bone. It really does a great job of keeping strings in tune. I have one on my strat, Gibson midtown and on my partscaster. It's as good as it gets.

Comments about Graph Tech Slotted Trem-Nut for Stratocaster:

Bought this as a cheap quick fix for a dead and fuzzy sounding low E on a Squier Strat.
Not only is the fuzz gone, the guitar plays like a real-deal Strat now!
The graphite nut never binds up your strings on fretted and trem bends and springs right back to true tuning like you wouldn't believe. Just took a few minutes to sand the nut down to the right size and radius. (Easy to do. Don't stress about it! Tons of how-to videos online.)
I thought you had to get a pro-shop trem/bridge set up to attain these kinds of results. Nope. Replace that garbage plastic nut on your guitar with one of these pronto. Best low cost mod you can do for a cheap guitar IMO.

          Slotted Nut

Comments about Graph Tech Slotted Trem-Nut for Stratocaster:

I put this on my Squier Strat and it made all the difference in the world. The guitar is much easier to tune and stays in tune longer than it did with the old nut. I would highly recommend this product and I'll be putting it on most every guitar I get from here on out.

          Great Nut

          By Fuzzy John

          from Howell, NJ

Comments about Graph Tech Slotted Trem-Nut for Stratocaster:

This nut replaced the original in my 2008 Mexican Strat. The G, B and Hi E strings sounded just a bit muffled. The replacing job was easy. This nut needed only minor sanding to make it fit in the slot and then a little more sanding to bring the sides flush with the neck. Since the slot botton was curved I had to sand down the little tab in the middle. Other than that the height was perfect. No further sanding required.

          Easy Upgrade

          By Anonymous

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Graph Tech Slotted Trem-Nut for Stratocaster:

I recently modded a couple of old electrics. One was an LP the other a Strat. I put Graph Tech nuts on both. I also added locking tuners and GraphTech saddles to both and now I have no more tuning issues at all; no more string kinks. I am meticulous about the work that I do, but it was so simple to sand these a little herev and thereto allow them to fit perfectly. I will be putting one of these babies on every guitar I own forever more!

          Fits Within Seconds

          By MyNutWorksNow

          from East Coast

Comments about Graph Tech Slotted Trem-Nut for Stratocaster:

I purchased this nut for my old Cort Strat and it fit almost perfectly. I had to sand it for about 10 seconds for width and it was in. I think it made a difference in tone but then again anything would have helped this guitar sound better. Great buy to replace a worn out nut and add a bit more tone.

          Trem-Nut for Lefty

          By Johnny Sain

Comments about Graph Tech Slotted Trem-Nut for Stratocaster:

You can order one made for a lefty. I got mine from the Graph-Tech website. I filed down the center slot and a mm from each side. Works great and looks super on my Black Tele. Didn't do a thing with the string grooves.
