Top string hit neck when played. Even though it was an adjustable bridge, it was so far off that the bridge needs to be replaced. Couldn't return it because we did not save the original packing. Having to spend more money out of pocket to get this NEW upright bass in playing condition. Were told the warranty we purchased was invalid, since we threw away the packing. We should have been told we were required to save the packing when the bass and the warranty were purchased. Was my son's ONLY Christmas present, and he has not been able to play it. We are VERY disappointed with this purchase. (This upright bass could NOT have been checked prior to leaving the shop. The problem is flagrantly obvious.)

the color was a little darker than i expected . more gold than blond . the overall finish is pretty nice. no problems with the action , and the intonation seems right on . the strings that came on the bass were not very loud . i changed these to hybrid helicore strings and the sound improved greatly . very loud , and clear now . the flamed maple is very nice , and mine has a little spalting in it . i get many comments about he good looks . i believe this to be a good bass for the money and would buy it again . i like it better than the englhardts i have played .

Just arrived. Better than I thought. Tuned up and ready to play within 30 minutes after removing from box. Beautiful instrument. Perfect purchase for the price. If you are looking for a nice 3x4 upright bass that sounds great, this is the one.

it really has a beautiful tiger flamed maple back and sides , fine grained spruce top , Ebony finger board and a nicely carved maple neck . it has an attractive blonde lacquer and another thing about it , it doesnt have any finish on the back of the neck where your thumb travels , so theres no friction on any maneuvers. its a really well made instrument.

it trully sounds great . its sounds as good as most the priceier bass on the market. im really satisfied.
i couldnt find a better deal on upright bass anywhere .

Out of the box I was Happy with the way it looks the only thing that kinda bugs me is the colour of the neck behind the fingerboard, also another little nit picky thing I have about it comes from the A string have a slight buzz to it. The A string is not a big deal cause I'll probably end up replacing the strings later or getting an adjustment. Overall it is a Great Bass especially since I got it cheaper than usual with coupons.

I got this bass a couple months ago and it has a very impressive sound and looks very nice.But, this is a kind of bass that would be good some upgrades like better strings and a lower and solid bridge that it's not the best but still sound good for what it is. I put a fishman full circle which sounds very good. if you buy it you will like it but save your money for some upgrades or buy a european made that costs a european car :)
