I work with elementary school children, and often bring my fiddle in to play for the kids. Today a kindergartener jumped on my case not once but twice while my grandfather's fiddle was in the case. The child told me that I shouldn't leave it on the floor if I didn't want it jumped on - I won't repeat what I said to him. I was relieved too find my fiddle in one piece,and even in tune. I had been concerned about how well such a light-weight case would take abuse and protect the instrument. While I don't intend to drive over it with my car, I will consider this case 5-year-old proof.
This is an excellent case for the money!

I ordered one of these cases for a back-up fiddle. While it seems nice enough on the outside, you definitely get what you pay for with this one. Sometimes it definitely pays to spend a little more for something that you expect to use for a long time.
The outide of the case is covered in a nice heavy nylon material, with decent stiching and reinforced at key points. There is a decent push-latch for added security, and the full-zipper is of decent weight and quality and zips up smoothly. The full zippered music pocket on top is nice and thickly padded, but that's as far as the good points go.
The handle is simply a couple of floppy sewed-on straps, with an added velcro fastener, and doesn't look like it will last very long. Inside, the lining is a VERY thin velvet-like material that you can actually SEE THROUGH! I can't imagine what the manufacturer was thinking here, as surely there was a better and thicker material available to line a violin case! The case comes with only two bow holders, a place to put a shoulder-rest, and a couple of small compartments for rosin and accesories. There is no humidity meter, no string tube, and the shoulder strap looks a bit flimsy. There are no bumpers (or feet) on the back or outside for protection when you sit it down, except on one end. There is a flimsy end strap that looks like it will fall off if you pick it up that way. The constrution is of a rigid foam, so this thing won't take much being piled on top of it, either. It is what it is, and for the money it's simply "OK", but there are much better options available out there for not much more money.
If you want something to store a fiddle in your house, this would work fine, but I wouldn't recommend this case for carrying to gigs or much of anything else other than simple storage. Save your dimes and go with something a little nicer and you will be more satisfied in the long run.

You won't find a better value. I bought this to replace a damaged case for my back up violin. It works and looks good. I would prefer a closure other than zipper and a cover other than fabric, but for the price and free shipping, no one else can offer a functional case for anywhere close to the cost.

This is the second case I've bought of this model. They are economical and do the job of protecting the violin and provide storage for rosin, tuner and shoulder rest and even has an outside pocket for a thin music book or sheet music.

The case comes with plenty of room for accessories, but does not include a hygrometer.
Excellent padding, great neck suspension, and high quality material.
