OVERVIEW

Superior student violin outfit.

The clear, lovely varnish is orange-brown, slightly shaded, and the tone and workmanship are first-rate. Supplied with a lightweight, 4-tuner tailpiece and D'Addario Prelude steel strings, this violin offers the best tone quality for the advanced student. This outfit comes complete with a genuine horsehair bow, a hardshell case and violin care products. Of the many available student violin starter kits available, this one merits particular consideration. Cremona is a respected brand, and the final inspections on these instruments are made by expert violin makers. Each instrument is setup to Cremona standards at their U.S. workshop and is ready to play the day they arrive, adorned with all of the extras you need to get started. Comments about Cremona SV-500 Series Violin Outfit:

I am new to violin, but not new to playing music, so I wanted an instrument up a step from beginner. The sv-500 is definitely that. The violin comes with steel strings, so upgrade to Dominant strings for a better sound. The bridge shifted during shipping, so make sure you adjust. Unfortunately, my violin came in a damaged case, and since the two come as a set, I am unable to exchange just the case. All in all, it's a great violin and I expect I will not outgrow it for a while.

Comments about Cremona SV-500 Series Violin Outfit:

Apparently this is a new violin coming out from Saga. I got to play one at Washington Music recently as they have the first one made. Having been a teacher for 20 years I've seen all the violins at ASTA and I must say Cremona has come a long way. For a brand that has typically only been know for cheap violins, they have really stepped up their game with this new 500. For the price it's definitely a game changer. The fit and finish was superb, the setup was exceptional, and the tone was incredible for such an inexpensive instrument. Watch out Eastman!

Comments about Cremona SV-500 Series Violin Outfit:

I bought this as my first violin. Prior to receiving this instrument I had never even picked up a violin, let alone played. However, I have years of experience in music, playing piano, guitar, and mandolin.

And this violin was a great way to get introduced to violin. I was looking for a quality instrument, made without laminate materials that would hold up for years and years. At the same time, I did not want to spend too much for something I may discover I had no ability or love for playing.

I think the sv-500 hit that sweet spot. It was affordable, came with everything I needed to get started, and it just feels like a quality product. (and it is very pretty to look at)

So now I've been playing for just a few weeks and getting my feet under me, and I'm overall happy with the purchase. To be sure, it does not sound like a more expensive violin, and probably never will. However, it still sounds very nice (especially considering the price) and should not get in the way of my improvement on the violin. Go ahead and get it -this is a great place to start in learning.
