eMedia My Violin first covers such basics as proper violin, hand and finger position, the elements of correct bowing technique, how to tune the instrument, and play rhythmic tunes. The instrument itself has a spruce top with maple back and sides. Other parts are of dyed hardwood with a metal alloy, four tuner tailpiece. The violin has been meticulously set-up and packed in a protective cloth. The bridge is in place, the strings are loosened for shipping. The bow is made of wood, and rosin for the bow is included. The sturdy carrying case has light foam padding as well as a handle and shoulder strap.
The violin comes in 3 different sizes to accommodate various ages: 1/8 size (usually for ages 5-6), 1/4 size (usually for ages 7-8) and 4/4 full size (usually for ages 12 & up through adult).

This is a good outfit for someone that isn't sure that they want to play the violin. It is inexpensive, however it shows in the instrument it self. When I got mine the varnish on the back was already chipped, the strings it comes with are very cheap and broke after about a week, I had to buy a bottle of peg drops because I couldn't even get all four strings in tune at the same time before they were out of tune again.
Bottom line is this is a great product to start out with, but you will quickly want to upgrade after you find that you enjoy playing violin.
