My daughter, who is eleven and has been playing for three years, is very pleased with this shoulder rest. I bought the size 1/2-3/4, and it fits her 3/4 violin perfectly. She says the shoulder rest lets her hold the violin securely with just her chin. Detached, it also fits inside the violin case with the violin, spooning up against it. Tip: if you have a 3/4 violin, do not order what's listed here as the 3/4-4/4 size, which is actually stamped "4/4" on the plastic (as I found out when it arrived) and does not fit a 3/4 violin. Instead, order the 1/2-3/4 size, which is indeed stamped "1/2-3/4," and you will be fine. Customer service sent me out the right size right away -- thank you for excellent service!

Best value for the price range.

It fits well and does the job. I would suggest going with this rather than the Resonans, or other similar designs in the price range, because it is made with better materials.
I've been playing violin for about eight years, and I have used three different shoulder rests, including this one. This one is by far the best for two reasons: it's feet are snug and don't damage the violin, and the feet's attachment by screw rod means it's height is adjustable to a certain degree. I've used the Resonans, and another even more pricier one I cannot recall--both that used metal feet protected only by latex, that can possibly scratch the violin and doesn't allow as tight a fit as this rest's more elastic plastic feet. This one fits easily onto my violin and doesn't fall off. The construction is simple and solid also. And as for durability: by the look, sturdy feel, and simplicity of it's design, I'd bet that nothing is going to catch and peel off or come apart for a lifetime.
The simple design and materials are just right, better fitting and not as damaging to the violin as the metal most other shoulder rests use.
Outdoes other rests in its price range for the ability to adjust its height, plus its materials (mostly plastic) are cheaper and fit better.

comfy but cheap

By Karis Mills

Comments about Everest Violin Shoulder Rest:

I like the comfort, fit, and price of this shoulder rest, but two of my violin students bought these and used them for only a couple of months before the rubber on the legs broke. I'm ordering one more in the hopes that either it was a fluke or they have gotten better. At this price, I want so much for them to be good shoulder rests so that I can keep using them for myself and my students. Here's hoping.
They don't do colapsable legs yet.
The rubber on the legs broke on two of these that my students bought.
If it breaks, it isn't worth the price.

Great, for a while

By Alexandria grahm

Comments about Everest Violin Shoulder Rest:

If the legs on my shoulder rest were in tact I could probably adjust my shoulder rest so it wouldn't irritate my shoulder, but since they are so flimsy this is not possible. I am hoping that they will come out with a shoulder rest with stronger legs because I really do love everything else.
My Everest shoulder rest, was very comfortable comparred to the old shoulder rests, they are a
revoulution in comfort. After a while though, mine began irritatiting my shoulder, but I don't know why.
The shoulder rests are generally good quality and wear well, but the legs are very flimsy and mine have started wearing from stress. I know many people who have had several broken legs on their
Everest shoulder rests.

Comments about Everest Violin Shoulder Rest:

My son recently decided to learn the fiddle and I bought this shoulder rest for him because of the price. When I tried it I was very impressed with the level of comfort it provided. I have played fiddle for over 10 years and have tried several shoulder rests that cost 2 to 5 times as much. After using the Everest I decided to purchase a second one for myself.

Very Comfortable

Comments about Everest Violin Shoulder Rest:

I have this shoulder rest and I unfortunately did not buy it from this website. However, this is a amazing shoulder rest and is more than great for the price. I bought it from my orchestra teacher for $20 so and he bought it straight from everest for $20. He bought them for us and let s us pay him so we didn't have to drive out to everest which is on the other side of town. I know that it cost $20 at Everest because I called and asked them. You are saving lots of money if you buy it here. The only thing wrong with this shoulder rest is its a little bit heavy and bulky but only a small bit compared to others. The padding is so soft and comfortable you'll forget all about that.

Comments about Violin Shoulder Rest:

With the shoulder rest my daughter had before this one, she had a hard time holding the violin under the chin without some support from the left hand. This shoulder rest solved the problem in a day or so -- if not right away. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Not much to say - shoulder rests can be much more expensive than this one. I took a chance and won. The Everest fits snugly and works great. The molded polymer is strong. Feels nice too.
