Comments about Florea Prodigy Viola Outfit:
I have to admit I was nervous about looking for a viola for my high school aged daughter. We have been through the heartache of buying an instrument only to find out it was trash. The reviews on this viola made me very hopeful and as luck would have it I found a used florea prodigy locally for her to try out. There were other so called "higher quality" (and more expensive) used violas along with this one and even one that was cheaper. The sound of the prodigy blew me away! My daughter picked it up and played it easily. The sound was so rich that even a non-musician like myself could appreciate the difference. It was the BEST purchase I could have made for my daughter's first viola. I have heard no complaints from her in regards to tuning, either. She plays it all the time! Also, my daughter likes the way the finish stands out among all the other drab conventionally finished instruments. This viola LOOKS as beautiful as it sounds.
Based on our experience, I would recommend this instrument to anyone looking for a great student viola.

I have heard many different stories about purchasing something risky like a musical instrument over the internet. Many say you should never buy one unless you cannot live without its tone, or you know for a fact that it will stand through the test of time. As a serious music student, but a beginning viola player, I knew that I couldn't afford the investment in a $1,000+ instrument, so I looked to buying online. It turns out perfectly because not only are you backed up with a 45-day guarantee, but the prices are beyond reasonable, and also the quality and features would surprise you for what you pay. In regards to my Florea Prodigy Viola that I received:The wood was a little darker than photographed, but otherwise consistent with the images. This worked for me, because I really love darker wood on violas. The case is very lightweight and in some places arguably flimsy, but it does its job and guards the viola well. The bow moves around slightly due to there only being one anchor for it in the case.If you purchase this, you may want to consider investing in a shoulder-rest. It's all personal preference, but I knew I wouldn't be able to play it for very long without feeling discomfort.Simple set-up will be required. I would recommend you do some searches about how to set up the bridge and tune the strings without snapping them, since the ones provided are not of the best quality. They will do the job for starting out, though. My viola arrived in good shape, but with few minor cosmetic imperfections, possibly due to shipping (scratch on fingerboard, very small wood chunks in the case, etc.)Keep in mind that you could never really go wrong with a warranty for peace of mind! For what you pay, the bow is good.
Just keep in mind, this is a student model. It does the job (very well, actually) for pretty much just students/beginners. You might be able to advance with it higher, but by then you'll probably be able to invest in a more responsive, finely-honed viola to fit your needs. For someone like me who's always wanted to play, but for fun/pleasure and isn't going to pursue it professionally, this is a great buy.
I am very happy I bought this viola for myself.

The viola that I have received is beautiful. Sounds amazing. The only problem I have with the viola is the tuning pegs are garbage. the pegs keep slipping, and are not properly fit to the viola. I would recommend getting a nice professional set-up after you purchase this viola.Other than that, I love playing this instrument, it just takes some time to tune, and to stay in tune.

I got a used Florea Prodigy package, and it is a great value! It sounds wonderful, and it's easy to play. I've played fiddle for a year and was ready to try to viola.
